How to remove decal remains?
#1
Hi guys,

Recently purchased an fzs600 "99
The fazer sticker decals on both sides front fairing are now just black sticker remains and quite weathered on there,  how can I remove then without damaging the paint work so I can put new ones on?

Also if anyone knows where I can buy some replacements that would be smashing!  Big Grin [Image: b15716a12103089ba657c2c60bb380dc.jpg]

Get a bottle of Sticky Stuff Remover, I've used it on visor inserts before so it's okay with plastics.

Carefully warm the area with a hairdryer to soften adhesive, lift the edge & gradually pull the sticker away as you go.

Any residue remaining can be removed with WD40 & a soft cloth then area washed with warm soapy water dried then polished.

I'm with everyone else, I'm sure all these methods will work with some added elbow grease.
With regards to sourcing decals, are you looking to put the bike back to original?

I find the stickers, mirrors, handlebars and indicators are all a little bit too 'last century' for my liking, but that's just my opinion.
I'd see how you get on without the decals before deciding if you want to replace.  :rollin  :rollin  :rollin

Celticdog,  haven't seen it without the decal so I'll see how it looks,  have you got different decal or just plain?  Also do you have a link for some different mirrors?

Hi Matt, the best bet for mirrors, turn signals ect is fleabay, something for all budgets.
Search for Yamaha pattern mirrors for R6, yzf or fzs 600 and 1000, they should all fit and they're of a decent quality.  Smile
