Sad news but are you really surprised? plenty of circuits in the UK all wanting to grab the same limited number of big ticket events? sorry to say i never thought they'd pull it off.
Someone sent me a postcard picture of the earth. On the back it said, "Wish you were here."

Not concerned about the location but the UK in general could do with some new circuits, foc me things have got so bad that assen is now part of the British superbike calendar
Our circuits are out-dated and we need some designed to accommodate modern machinery
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

I can't believe this has got as far as it has, we are not a big motorsports country, football rules here. We don't have enough big events , one or two big meetings a year is not profitable ...look at last weekends BSB, spot the spectator.
Another new circuit would be a huge white elephant and going bust soon after opening.

For me part of the problem is our outdated circuits don't allow close racing, all one line with overtaking almost impossible without risking everything. Take a look at AMA, far better racing, I used to love going to Cadwell etc but hardly a race more of a very quick procession these days

Personally, I don't think the circuits/layouts are the problem with attendances at UK race meetings. The real issues for me are :-

1 - ticket prices are way too high
2 - UK roads and traffic conditions make travelling longer distances a real pain - and getting in and out of our circuits can be a nightmare.
3 - the weather !!!!! - who wants to spend all day walking about, wet, in mud and being cold (especially if you've ridden to the circuit

Unless Circuit of Wales deal with the first, the second and third issues are irrelevant to me.
