Over the Easter holidays I doing a full service on my 2000 w reg 600c Fazer But having trouble finding the make for the Air filter , and Oil Filter , and front brake pads , I can not find the info in the manual or the haynes one too. The shop I get the stuff is quite expensive . Spark plug is 11.00 unlike Halfords 6.99 which I need to watch my budget as my insurance is due tomorrow , can anyone help ! Also my chain is so stiff I been told to break the chain and do a deep clean and leave the chain in fresh oil for 48 hours !

Ferodo front brake pads are FDB605ST (ST is for sintered, different last two letters denote a different brake pad material)
Air filter many will agree to change to a k&n just search on ebay

+1 for the K&N air filter, and even oil filter as well, they're cheap enough and do the job.
Personally speaking, due to a previous bad encounter i would avoid buying a Hi-Flo air filter, even if the price does look appealing.
Hate to say it, but if your chain is as bad as you say it is then it's probably had it.
If you have any stiff links in the chain then you'll start feeling knocking on your left footpeg, which is a certain sign it's time for a new one, plus spockets, just buy them as a set. Soaking a ropey chain in oil isn't gonna spring it back to life unfortunately, once the rust sets in it's on its way out.

Air filter - K & N
Oil filter - Never had a problem with Hi- Flo ones.
Pads - SBS might as well give the calipers a good clean while you're at it.
I would also replace the chain and sprockets if they are FUBAR.
As a temporary fix you could give the stiff links a squirt with plus gas roll them on to the rear sprocket and give it a good whack with a rubber mallet.
Depends on how stiff the stiff links are. Try a good work through with paraffin (cheap) and an old toothbrush. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Oh and +2 for the K&N airfilter

£6.99 a plug from Halfrauds- shocking! :eek
Ebay all the way fella, you can get 4 for £17 with free postage, it's the way forward.
Otherwise some motor factors stock bike oil at reasonable prices, get some lithium based grease too,
it's cheaper if you buy it in a mastic gun type tube. :thumbup always handy to have.

About K&N air filters: on my bike 2003 Fazer FZS 600 the old cheap HiFlo air filter was working much better than the overpriced K&N. Complete waist of money.
Two filters above plus the brake pads cost total of £32. The K&N filter itself cost £39. And does nothing different that the other air filters do. Except making my bike works and sounds worst.
Save your money and do not buy K&N.

So because, for whatever reason, the K&N air filter strangely didn't benefit YOUR bike, everyone else on here must be dreaming that it improved throttle response and general running feeling?
The £39 cost is for the last air filter you will ever buy for the bike plus we have discussed and worked out very cheap ways of cleaning it, so at worst it will need a spray of oil to 'recharge' it,
Maybe something else was amiss or out of sync with your bike because i just can't see how you can dismiss such a well known popular brand that i know through personal experience works really well with the Fazers?

How often do you need to clean the K and N For peak performance the same mileage you'd have to change a standard one- it would have collected at least the same amount of crud that would warrant the changing of oem!

I changed my OEM one at 15k and never noticed any change in performance.
After buying the oil and cleaning the K and N, dropping on my patio then cleaning that oil up then getting it off my hands and clothes and the whole job taking 5 hours, I will just stick to swapping with a new dry and clean OEM.

Thank you for the info, got my pads and spark plugs from e bay air and oil filter from the local bike shop and it just went for the cheapest option as I am on a budget and with the oil moturl brand the total was £67 pounds which is not to bad ……… Roll on next week when it all get done ….
