Normal thread, anticlockwise to undo it.

If it's seized the only tool to use is an impact gun. Should zap it off no problem. Using anything else risks rounding the nut.

One of my sprocket nuts managed to fuse itself on, took my mechanic ages to eventually remove it.

Better than it just falling off though i s'pose.

Presumably you've bought the upgraded 12mm nut to replace it with?

yahoo nut finally removed put my  ratchet in a really long bar and used the extra length as a fulcrum to give more pulling power came of easy plus a mate turned up to put some weight on the brake pedal  also a neat trick just behind front sprocket put a long nut and bolt through the chain it stops chain moving forward and locks it in place. so all good .  No have not upgraded to 12mm but I will visit my dealer in the morning the gasket is US so need a new one of those it literally fell to bits all surfaces cleaned off so ready to go.
again thanks for help and did not know about 12mm  upgrade have read up on this on the forum posts so all good
cheers steve
