Which Box
#1
Hi i know this is a strange one but i am looking to get a top box for my fzs600 but am struggling between the 37 litre and 47 litre i am after a new black carbon effect one from Givi range. Does anyone have a 47 litre box on their bike? Does it look too big? Or has anyone got any pics they would share? Its a big outlay to get it wrong and i've not got any Givi stockists near me so cannot physically go and try it.

Cheers folks!

Side by side they are about the same width. The main difference is you can get 2 helmets in the 47, or one helmet, leathers and boots at a push!

It is a bit big, not that you notice riding, no wider then the pizza boxes you see the moped riders filtering with.
Here's mine before some twunt smashed it off...

No matter what size you get remember there is a weight limit on those metal arms, it's all too easy to think 'it fits in the box so it's ok'

Good point about the weight cheers! its mainly to stash my riding gear in when i arrive at a job as i cannot take it in with me. if i could get a helmet and jacket or helmet and Leather jeans in a 37L i would be happy but if not might have to be the big un!

on a side point looking at the image under the box on the end of the arms i can see a grey mount with Givi written on. Were these part of the mounting plate or part of the rack arms?

I have received the arms and the bolts but thats it. When the mounting plate came its an M5 plate which turns out to be the wrong one as i need an M3 plate. But will the M3 plate come with all fixings to mount to the arms or are the arms missing these?

Thanks for pics and help guys! Smile

No idea. I bought the bike with the mount already there.

I think they should come with the arms, as there are a couple of different types of mounting plate.
Fyi- kappa boxes have exactly the same mounts as givi and are generally cheaper!

I have a 47L and I'm very happy with it. If you're not too vain about the look, then it's great to have the extra space. and not squash your boots or scratch your helmet trying to get everything in.

Assuming you shopped about, where did you find the best price. I need to replace mi e after someone went at it with a screwdriver /pry and knackered the catch, lock and both hinges!

Big, double-full-face-helmet capacity Givi top box, on our Fazer 600.

We don't think it looks odd/too big (we've had the top box for over 25 years) and it's been in continuous use for the whole time, on various bikes.

Hi Ebay seems to be the best bet at the moment £160 for the GIVI 47L carbon tech. Cheers for the pic!! I suppose its function more than anything else! No box makes a bike look great lol
