What wheelie technique?

Just wondering what technique you guys are using, what gear, what revs, what speed? I've not tried first gears yet, but I'm struggling in second, used to be able to get my 750 gix up easy in second, but I'm struggling on the fazer...

2nd on power if you get the revs right but easy in 2nd and 3rd with a clutch slip.
Ist and anything over a roll on and she is up.

I'm 1 tooth up on rear atm but that makes almost no difference.
Bike is full Monty ivans with blue flame can and 3 deg ignition advanced.
Also upgraded rear shock so don't tend to get the initial squat that the std shock can give.

Where abouts are you reving before you pull in and dump the clutch? Video on YouTube seems to be about 50mph in second

Why do wheelies ? All it does is do the wheel bearings and headstock bearings to death?
Dont do wheelies on my bike it,s faster without them ?

2nd gear and either 6k and clutch it or 7.5k and bounce it up on the throttle.
And 3rd gear wheelies...........off the clutch, luv2c that!

yep 2nd gear pop the clutch and she stays up til 100 mph chase out the wheelie if you know what i mean,,

Two things I find difficult on a bike is carrying speed thru a corner and poppin wheelies....I'm getting better better on the corners...(thanks mr light and flickable cb500) but wheelies.....I have perhaps a far too healthy penchant for keeping both wheels on the ground. The only time I ever got the front wheel up proper was when I picked up my fzs600 and dropped the clutch trying to zoom round a bendy bus before I got slapped from oncoming .....the front popped up nicely but I didn't have a clue how to hold it and put it back down....,I scraped the foc outta my jacket on the bus (thank god it was there) and the front went down but not straight and bounced around while tank slappin me but luckily didn't go down.  Haven't really tried since.

Do u have more control with the throttle or clutch?

Much more control with the clutch, I could wheelie my Drz through all the gears, and even my old gsx750f, so it's odd it seems such a struggle on this! Clutch brings the bike right where you need it in one go, rolling the throttle tends to build too much momentum making flipping a hell of a lot easier...

ya power wheelie in first is a bit more violent/sudden but if your prepared for it its fine ,and a good way to start off learnin to cope bringin the wheel up and down safely ,gettin higher as u gain confidence ,,when u master that 2nd gear bout 50 ish  pop the clutch "fast" and up she comes dont be afraid to keep the throttle pinned ,once yer covering the back brake you be fine
