It is a good bike but be aware of the issues with the stators, also you would be better of with the GT version, same bike just comes with full faring and luggage top box and panniers. Cannot understand why you like your 600 so much why you are not going for an FZ1 they can be picked up now for a little money and unlike the Honda they are bullet proof.

So you want something to commute, with decent MPG, a nice turn of speed, not to wide, reliable and some form of weather protection.
If your not to bothered about age why not have a look at a VFR750, ticks all of the above.
However if you do fancy a Tracer, (and I can see why) then why not get narrower bars fitted but then again you might find that the Tracer bars go over most car mirrors anyway.
