Hard to beat the PR4, I have just put a pair of Sportec M7s on the 1000, now if only I could get a dry day to bed them in. :rolleyes

That's not quite right because you cannot get two tyres on the same wheel rim for the ultimate confidence

For what it's worth. Had Metzeler Z6's fitted and thought they were great for grip and mileage etc. Changed to PR4's after locking the front in the wet and cadence braked into side of van in London (centre line grip/tread on Z6's a bit lacking in wet). I've so far managed to lock the front twice with the PR4's in the DRY under "yoooooouuuuuuuuuu CNUT" braking conditions. Good tyres (brilliant in wet) but maybe a tad too soft if that makes sense.
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
