Renntec sports racks are not designed for a top box.

Oh right. Sorry, I'm a massive twat that's makes stupid assumptions of boxes upon tubular racks. What dumbo ay.
On the plus side I guess this is something I don't need then. Thanks.

The Renntecs have some daft recommended weight limit of just 2.5kg believe it or not.
Plenty of people will have obviously carried more than that without issue without a doubt, but I had a smallish top box on my bike and it overtook me one day when slowing down near my work.
It's not just about what you put on them, but also have to allow jolts from speed bumps, etc, that greatly increase the load for a split second.
I use quite a few speed bumps daily so that obviously helped it snap clean in half.
I have the rack Frosties has suggested with a large top box on and have had no issues at all, it's much stronger.

I've had the same Renntec rack on mine for 10 years. Kept it in good shape and rust free. Loaded it up with tents, heavy bagsĀ  and various camping gear. All at the same time. Never a problem.

If you are still looking for a Rentntec rack that's in very good condition and with its fitting kit, I have one for sale for a Gen 1.

Message me on here, or feel free to call me on 07766 710510.

Cheers,

Ray.
