Hi,
Looking to get some breakdown cover for the bike. Basically need some cover mainly in the event of a puncture and to return bike to home. Just wondering what companies people using etc and more importantly any good when called.
Thanks
Tend to switch between companies to get new member discount each year.
Get personal cover then it cover the cage as well.
Use the cashback sites like quidco and topcashback.
Never called them so can't comment on service, but someone will no doubt have a 'horror' story about each of them.
I also get the cover for punctures and to get me home etc
D
Yep me too personal which covers the car and bike. The AA but have a fight with them every year at renewal to get the deal I had last year
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
As others have said I bounce between the AA and RAC each year to get the new member discount and have personnel cover which covers the car and bike
not sure the name of company as went through swinton , may well be with swinton themselves, i have cover as i use a bike daily all year round, called them out a couple of times due to a puncture & on another occasion a twat ran me off the road at 5.30am but both times they arrived within a couple of hours ,think ime paying around £7 a month and covers whatever bike i am riding at the time.
living the dream
The only other one I know of is green star -- is it them gixersteve

I've been with RAC since 1988 - personal cover for Liz and myself for any vehicle we're in as well as cover for two specified vehicles (ours sons car and his Fazer 600). Usually costs about £150/£160 per year and gives great peace of mind. Used it when Ryan dropped his Fazer and only a couple of times in 25 years for other people's vehicles we've been in.
Overall, for spending +£2,500 it doesn't seem like very good value - but the peace of mind (for Liz, more than me) is priceless and makes it totally worthwhile.
We've got RAC cover through a premium back account with Coop. It's a joint account with my wife and £15/month, but that gives us EU cover for both of us in any vehicle, bike or car. Most cheap deal cover, won't cover the two of us in either our bikes or car, ya see. When I had a huge lump of glass in back tyre I didn't feel confident I could plug, the RAC came out reasonably quickly and managed to plug it so I could get to garage for new tyre. So no complaints on service.
The £15/month isn't cheap, but when factoring in other benefits like phone/gadget insurance, preferable interest rates etc, it works out a worthwhile deal. Check if your bank does anything similar and if the rates are worth while.
through Bennetts insurance I got RAC cover & through Halifax bank I got AA cover
when I used RAC for bike a local garage turned up & were great
I used AA recently for Mrs's car as I shattered drive shaft, and AA man said I was only covered to recover to nearest garage! luckily he was going back via our local garage (1/2 mile from our house) so he dropped it off there but he did advise upgrading so next time they have a AA man outside supermarket will ask him!!
It ain't what you ride, it's who you ride with!!!
I've got Carole Nash multi bike insurance, which includes Green Flag and other providers roadside and recovery for free. Also includes continental trips.
