Kosmic, I'm not even going to ask you about "AF assist being in the flash"  :lol

NOW you are a Landscape photographer

AF assist is when  its too dark for the camera to "see" what it is supposed to be focusing on and so it fires a (in the case of an  EX speedlight an infered light)
Dont know why its a problem
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

Can you get flash cubes for this model?
Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.

I'm probably not the best person to ask on this  :lol

Are flash cubes even a thing anymore? It does have a hotshoe for a separate flash unit, as well as the built-in flash.

If you are serious about photography you will find out soon you need more and different lenses.

Based on that I would buy a system that allows you to get best lenses cheaper. Because the lenses are expensive anyway.

The really cheap route is to get Pentax DSLR body. It is well know fact you can buy plenty of really old lens and use it on a modern Pentax DSLR. The reason is Pentax K mount has been used from 1975 till now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentax_K-mount

With Pentax you can experiment and play with really cheap old lenses.

The second route I would choose is Canon DSLR body. I think Canon do the best cameras so congrats on your choice  Smile

Canon lenses are more expensive than Pentax, but some lenses are better too.

With all my respect all other brands offer not too many lenses like Samsung, Panasonic etc. or the lenses value for money is less like Nikkon, Sony etc.
