Nobody speed for a year, at the end of which they will sack all the nobs that work for the safety camera partnership and scrap all the cameras on account of their cost v income into council coffers. If the bastards threaten to reintroduce the cameras we'll retaliate with another year of non speeding.... Simples
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

There's no way to beat this, once you're caught speeding in that tractor beam it's all over.
Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.

Just proves what everybody suspects, it has not to do with safety but all about revenue. :eek
A parked police car will do more for road safety than that hidden camera ever will, but makes no money :rolleyes

I suppose, at the end of the day if we didn't speed we wouldn't have to bother about sneeky scameras. We don't rob banks because we know it's illegal but we all speed, despite it being illegal, funny old world.
When we did the Brighton run the other week there were some strategically placed vans on the way in and out of Brighton, did they reduce speed on the day? NO they simply took money from peoples' pockets. Those same people could have then gone on to have a serious accident 50 yards after the scamera that they didn't see because their speed wasn't cut along that stretch of road. A few plod bimbling about on bikes along the same stretch of road, in full hi vis uniform that all could see would keep everyone within the speed limit and would massively reduce the chance of a serious accident. So, is it about revenue or safety.... you decide.
Money doesn't buy happiness, but it buys beer, and that helps!

Harry, are you part of the police or did you just notice these vans yourself? Because if the latter then surely it's better to get very unobservant drivers off the road for a few months (through points) than to slow them down for one afternoon?
