My mum was born and grew up in Cornwall - my great grandparents lived in the almshouses at St. Germans, and and my grandparents lived in Downderry, so we used to go down there a lot when we were kids (me and 2 brothers), with my parents. As I've also walked about 300 miles of the SW Coast Path, it's a county I'm pretty familiar with. Looe is a place I always head for when I'm down there; lots of great memories!

last trip of the year as the bike will go on a sorn at the end of the month, left monkton about 9 stopped in Luss for a cuppa then up through Glencoe and stopped for fuel and a cuppa, round the coast road to Oban back through Dalmally into Inveraray and headed for Dunoon, got the ferry there back to Gourock and up the coast home, 305 miles all in, dry roads good weather good views.
Nobody is perfect, but being Scottish is a start
We camped , brought tickets for the concentration' the only camping in the circuit, but they did sell out fast, all gone by March. Where we camped was great, mini olive grove overlooking the Med, toilets and showers on site as well.
Our campsite was bikes only, so only a few revving bikes at all hours, not as bonkers as it use to be! Would I go again, yes.

Today not quite as good as yesterday, but had it's highlights. First off, Launceston castle: ![]() Then up to the north coast, cuppa stop at Boscastle: ![]() Not as picturesque as I remember it, must have been thinking of somewhere else. And that kind of set the scene for the day. Went on to Tintagel, but when I got there I just couldn't be bothered. Too early for a pasty, couldn't be arsed to walk out to the castle, so just cracked on. One of the day's highlights was riding the coast road from St. Ives to Land's End. Wild Cornwall (almost) at it's best. But you can't beat walking the coast path between the busy places, where you see almost no one all day. On that road, typical relic of tin mining days: ![]() Then arrived at Land's End. First thing I did was to walk along the cliff top path away from the crowds: ![]() Then back to the busy bit for the de rigour photo: ![]() The A394 from there to Penzance was another good bit - had to watch out for strong gusts of wind on exposed bits though. Then blasted back to the B&B near Callington along the A390, via Helston, Truro, St. Austell, Liskeard etc. Some good bits on that road here and there too. Don't know what to do tomorrow - last day here. Don't want to just wind up at all the tourist traps again, just want some good scenery and roads to ride. Might explore the Tamar valley.

The A39 up near Porlock and Lynton are great for scenery and pretty decent roads, some really steep hills. You can go up to just past Minehead and take the A396 that goes through Exmoor and ends up at Tiverton that is a great road pretty technical. That was the last ride I did on my Fazer before I shut it away to try and sell, it was great.
