Iridium plugs
#1
Has anyone fitted iridium plugs to their Gen 2? Do they make any difference? Double the price of standards but if I knew they were gonna be better I'd bite the bullet and purchase.

I used to swear by Iridium plugs on my previous bike (Aprilia Futura) until one time I couldn't get them and used standard plugs instead, but still got the same massive improvement that you get when you replace worn plugs with new ones. The Furura needed new plugs every 8,000 miles and there was a real difference when they were replaced but I just haven't found that at all with the gen1, it just doesn't seem to wear out the plugs in the same way. 16,000 miles from a set and there is a barely noticeable improvement when new plugs are fitted. I don't know if that also applies to a gen2 and of course YMMV.

i would agree as I was talking to a person who raises karts. the difference is so slight. maybe if you was in f1 you would want to use them. on our street bikes i do not see that much difference. new plugs make a great  difference.

I ran my Fazer on the same set of normal plugs for 50k miles. Made no difference putting iridiums in that I could tell. Might do on poor fuel, might do in very high performance machines, but I don't think the Fazer needs them.

Iridium plugs cost twice as much but last 4 times as long, if you want to save money go with Iridium.
