Last night my oil light was on from starting the bike which was strange as it usually goes straight off to when I let go of the starter but it didn't go off this I thought it was maby cause I'm it was parked facing uphill but even when I levelled out and went down hill it stayed on and just flickered a little when It was at revs and the oil level was fine. I changed the oil today and the problem is still the same.

It's a nuisance, as it's obviously an electrical fault presuming you've put the correct amount in?
As long as you know your oil is at the correct level and not leaking then at least you know it's not about to seize up.

Might be worth topping up the oil nearer to the higher level mark, it may solve the problem.
I normally do mine two thirds of the way up between the case markings.
Make sure you start the engine and let it run for about 30 seconds then see where it settles after switching off, that's the correct way of checking the oil level, you simply may not have put enough in.
Do it gradually as well, in tiny amounts, restart the bike then let it settle again, DO NOT OVER FILL IT.

:agree especially if filter was changed

If I have read this right your saying it happens at low revs. My thoughts are stop running the engine and find out exactly what is wrong, i believe the oil light comes on when the the oil pressure is low, the pressure is built up by the oil pump which is there to pump the oil though the engine lubricating all the required places.
If I am right the pump could be on its way out. I m sure others on here who are more familiar with the Fazer engine will comfirm this either way, but in the mean time it is risky to run the engine in my opinion.

Nope, it's an oil level light, not a pressure light.

My guess is new oil has been put in but the level checked without running the engine first, so it hasn't got enough in it.

My FZ1 did this before and after an oil change and has flashed on start up a few times since. It flashes 10 times then pauses, does it again and stops. It has stayed on once for around 30 seconds too.
Search on tinterweb told me the 10 flash code is for faulty level switch. It's not done it again for a while, I know level is fine etc so not too worried.
As Darrsi says light is for level not pressure, is on mine anyway :lol

Just bang an extra egg cup full amount in there and you will be back to no light on
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

Or, a much better idea, measure it properly as above!
Leave the egg cups for your eggs.

What bike is it? I know on the gen 1 FZS1000 it's an oil level light and not pressure as someone already said. With my first Fazer, light would come on when giving it the berries if the oil level was any lower than the max mark in the sight glass. The sensor is just a bit pessimistic. The dealer confirmed it and just said to keep it topped up to the top line in the sight glass. Was always ok after that.
If topping it up to the top of the glass doesn't cure it then might be worth calling dealer? Someone on here is bound to know though.
