#1
hi all, my speedo on my 2000 model 600 fazer has stopped working it only seems to be working intamittantly and even jumps up and down when I'm stood still, my tacho seems fine and isn't showing any error codes, does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

hi ive just had this happen to me....first I went with changing the rotor sensor...it was shot to shit because it wasn't lined up right when wheel was put
back on..(not by me)..in the end bought speedo cable of ebay £45 and hay presto spot on.....but for weeks I thought it might sort it self out

because it was intermittent..would come back on when I turned lights of...then steady for a bit..then go crazy...then
all of a sudden it went and never came back about a week ago...thought it might be electrical but no it was the cable

good as new now :rollin

I started with the least expensive rotor sensor....good luck

bought mine from THUNDERROADMOTORCYCLES £45

The rotor is the bit that commonly gets broken, but if you're getting strange readings when standing still it won't be that.
It's much more likely to be the cable, either an intermittent break or the insulation worn through so that the core of a wire is getting shorted against the frame or the disk bolts if the cable's been routed wrongly.
If it is the cable you may be able to repair it, otherwise replacement is quite expensive as the bottom end is embedded in the sensor unit itself.

I had all the symptoms you describe.in the end had to buy new speedo sensor unit.could be lucky and get one second hand but they are rare.cost abound £130 new.
I eventually spent my cash and problem sorted.

that's the one I bought in the end.....like what some one just said it wont be the rotor because
it jumps when stationery

and as for repairing a mechanic said the wires are like phone wires??...foooook that
