Renthal bar
#1
What Renthal bar is the closest match to the stock? I'm currently using an almost flat bar and I can't get on with it. I also can't compare to the original bars as they are no more.

A lot of people, including me, have gone with the Ultra low 758.  Pretty close to the originals but with about 5 degrees more sweep and 1 1/2 inches on each end.  I'd never go back now, it feels so much more comfortable.  £32 inc del on Ebay.

did you drill holes to fit the throttle on???

Don't drill the bars just use a small file to remove the small lug in the throttle housing - it take a few minutes and then you can put the throttle housing in any position you want on any bar

Renthal 758's compared to stock. What's not so clear from that pic, is that the Renthals are lower than stock by quite a bit.

Sorry , no idea what other Renthal's fit well or are closer to stock.

BTW if you file down your switch gear and have hassle stopping it rotating around the bars. A little self amalgamating tape underneath keeps things rock steady.

Thanks guys, how about low rather than ultra low? I read something (I think it was the old forum) where the poster thought it was a better riding position. My worry is I'll end up with a similar bar to what I have now, it feels like my elbows are stuck out and that I can't push the bars? Sad
I'll be looking at the filing and tape method for fixing the switch gear.

I have got rethal low and I like them ( I'm 6'4") I think they are like the originals for height - you should not need tape if you take your time filling and leave the tiniest bit of the stud ( the bit you are filing off) which will pinch against the bar .

It's all down to personal preference and how tall/short/long armed/short armed you are.  Some people have gone for lower bars some others have gone for handlebar raising blocks.  You have to work out what you need not what other people have done.  But if you are trying to alter the riding position no point ending up with the same shape bars
