Strangest place to go on holiday
#1
Well, it's the last day of my short break and I've spent the last 4 days next to the M25, so where's the strangest place you've gone on holiday?

I've pitched my tent in some fairly unlikely places when doing long distance walks before, but can't think of anywhere particularly odd. Isn't part of the idea of living on a canal boat that you can move to somewhere better/quieter when you want though?  :think

Nothing overly out of the ordinary, though when I went to Amsterdam with a couple of friends we stayed in a boat... because why the fuck not...

We also travelled there and back via Coach (MegaBus) for £14 return - NEVER. EVER. AGAIN.

I went to Cardiff one sunday morning after a rugby match, and a irish bloke had bought a parking ticket in the railway station car park and pitched his tent in the space. :rollin they left him alone as well.

Yes red, Kings Langley.
My dad came down for a break, it took us 2 days to get from here to Perivale, the original plan was to get all the way into London but due to him needing to get back to Birmingham early and weather that wasn't going to happen.
After returning back to kings Langley I realised that although a very peaceful and pleasant few days it was actually very tiring driving the boat two days, one day off in London doing the tourist stuff, then two days coming back so haven't been arsed to move since getting back here.
Tbh you can hardly hear the traffic,  but very bizarrely there is a boat with a home mooring directly under the m25 bridge behind me, that can't be great surely!?

Spent a weekend in a tent nailed to the flat roof of a stable once. It was ok till it rained in the early hours of Sunday morning, the tent had an inch and a half of water in it, so we got out and slept in the stable.
