Bearing callapse
#1
Rear wheel bearing collapsed on the M25, thought I had a puncture at first, nursed it 5 miles to the office, that was fun!

Any idea why? how many miles had it done? had one go on a car, at 1 am, drove home 20 miles the nut on the axle was nearly worn right through, needed a new tyre, I had spun the car a few days before and hit the curb.

Not so good.

Had the sprocket carrier bearing collapse on me last month. That made a right horrible noise, but not quite as bad a wheel bearing going.

I'd honestly assume age/mileage to be the main reason, bikes at 44k

oil seal - as soon as that goes the water gets in and the bearing fails soon after.
