Easiest way to avoid mould on the door seal is to wipe it dry after use and leave the door open slightly. Once it's mouldy you won't get rid of it. Only way is to change the door seal. Must admit, I hadn't heard about the animal fats thing.

yeah.......using the 3/1 tablets so don't use salt or rinse aid

Grayo......when you say put descaler in the bottom of the machine, are you just pouring it literally onto the bottom and starting the wash.....if so, how much do you pour in?

You can buy bottles ready measured which you just open, turn upside down and place in the bottom of the machine. You can also buy sachets of powder which you just sprinkle in the bottom of the machine. In both cases you just put the machine (both dishwasher and washing machine) on a very hot wash and let it go through the cycle.

tried one of them bottles the other week, may need to try another one :rolleyes

seems to be cleaning a bit better now I'm not putting shed loads of dishes in (tho back in the day, I put loads in and never had these issues)

I've not had much trouble with the old integrated dishwasher for a while now . . .

apparently you can use those dishwasher cleaners to clean out your radiator --- so why dont you try some rad flush in your dishwasher :thumbup
