First Fazer
#1
Hi All,

Just bought not only my first Fazer but my first Yamaha after over 40 years of riding. It's a '98 600, red, with a rather fruity sounding Quill end can on stainless downpipes. It's in good nick with a genuine 16k miles. New tyres (Bridgestone BT021s), new battery, good chain and sprockets and a Scottoiler It's for a mix of commuting and pleasure runs on sunny weekends. It was rather a bargain, too  Smile
Having owned a right mix of bikes including a Varadero and a GoldWing, the Fazer seems tiny and the pegs rather high. I'm sure I'll get used to it, although I may look to lower the pegs a little.
My first question is, What should the tyre pressures be (in psi, please)?

Always ran all my Fazers on 36psi front and 42psi rear, never had any issues

Welcome to Fazership!
Ifyou are a "lightweight" like me (75kilos) you will be fine on 33 F & 36 R, obviously increasing pressure in rear for two up.

To become a lightweight like you I would have to chop a leg off.  :rolleyes
I think I'll start with 36/42 as per the Bridgestone website and experiment a bit from there.

Thanks, guys
