Ive found it great try running it in Ride64.exe not the default desktop icon, run in compatability for windows 7 and run as administrator. there is a patch out for it as well depending on where u got it from.(legal or not) i found once u get in game control and tab then re enter the game and it runs nice. It is buggy with nice when it runs smooth.

OK, bad wording.  :lol

I have a Saitek Cyborg Evo stick I was trying to use, but the turn is either full on or full off. Can't get a progressive lean going. Which is stupid!

If I did, I wouldn't be able to ride 5yrds! The steering is simply awful. When I have some money, I'll try a controller.

Sounds like pc version has better graphix but the console versions are more playable.

You need to be up to date with the console ready for when she is able.  Not that I am in spite youngest has an xboxone and eldest a ps3 even my daughter has an xbox 360. I seem to miss the point but I think that is an age thing.

Have you tried calibrating the controller in both windows and in game? You can often adjust sensitivity and dead zones for controllers. If the controller is cheap though, you may find that it just doesn't support fine adjustments of the axis.

I haven't played the game yet and can't currently justify its pricing despite having several game controllers and a proper race wheel and pedals (a little odd to use for motorbikes though Tongue)

Nah, the joystick is top-of-the line (or was a few years ago). I couldn't see any adjustment in game for sensitivity, and the same stick works great for Xplane

Thats because joysticks are used to control airplanes and handle bars are used to control motorbikes. :lol
