I had them in about 2010(?) for a 3000 mile UK tour. I don't know if they've been upgraded since then, but even then they weren't a bad tyre for touring and everyday use. Not exactly sport levels of grip though, I felt. Wet weather grip was ok, but not on a par with PR2s, and I'm constantly reading that PR3s and 4s are even better in the wet. I used the Contis as a cheap option at the time though, but now PR2s are cheap, no reason to go back to the Contis.
I've got them on my FZS1000 (and previous 3x Fazer's) and my GSF1200 (and the previous 600), for the money £144 a pair they are the best grip for the price. The only tires I have found that were better were the Pilot road 2's, but then they are £160 a pair.
In the dry they are predictable and they wet they let give me plenty of feedback when lent over so I can straighten up and avoid a slide etc or worse.

I found the CRA2's I had on my boxeye to be pretty good in both wet and dry conditions. Don't know about the extra power of the 1000 though but I can't imagine they would be too bad. I would go with PR2's, 3's or 4's if the budget permitted based on other riders good reviews though.
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???
