Hi,
I want to take the "Fazer" decals off my 2001 FZS600, the 2 "Fazer" signs, one on each side of the front cowling....
Anyone ever tried to take the deals off, any advice, they are clearly not meant to budge!
Anutz
warm them up with a hairdryer, just WARM to soften the glue... Don't get too hot or the paint will blister

Like Deefer says, a bit of warmth will soften them up so you can remove them without taking chunks out of your fairing.
You can clean up after with this product too, i use it on my visor when i renew the double sided tape on my anti fog visor inserts, it works incredibly well but doesn't damage or do anything bad at all, plus has many other uses so is always worth having a bottle stored away.
You can get it from most places, B&Q, Halfords, hardware stores, and most supermarkets, or online.
I prefer this bottled liquid version, but you can get it in a spray can as well.

Although I quite like the look of no decals on my Fazer, it does however make it super obvious I've dropped the bike, smashed the fairing, replaced it, but was too tight to pay £70 for new stickers. Might be worth considering, before you rip off your decals... ;-)

That is what I was thinking, it would just look like you have crashed it and had to respray it, as that the way they end up without the decals.
I wonder if you would even still see where they were if the paint around has changed in the sun or all those thousands of tiny scratches but none where the decals were
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
maybe you could get a " I never crashed it I just fancied it without decals" decal made up for it instead :b
I just took the decals off my FZ1 but mainly because a flymo had attacked one of them by falling off the shelf in the shed.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike
Hi,
Thanks all, shall get my hands on a hair dryer...
Regards the look, well i see your points about it looking like a re-spray and not sure what it will look like in terms of differences in color changes.
I'm just not keen on them, and at some point plan to get a new paint job on the bike anyway, so would have no decals anywhere at that point
Anutz
If you can get them off nicely you could then even sell them on

If you haven't already attacked the stickers yet, how about a before & after photo's so we can see what the result is ?

I should have some photos of mine from prior with stickers, and now with new fairing and without stickers. Give me a mo.
With Stickers:
Sans stickers:
I dont like those decals much myself as ive always thought they looked a little bit cartoony. dont mind it saying Fazer but maybe in a different font

Yea I agree that its a bit much with the word Fazer there.
However I do like the black stripe which brakes up the all over blue of the plastics.

Will post some before and after pics of mine when i get them off...
I also think they look cartoon like hence why they must go!
Mine didn't have the stickers on the fairing when I bought it but thought it would look better with them on (mine actually was crashed and repaired)
Where can I get some from?

There's loads on ebay in lots of different fonts and colours.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

You can get originals from here - http://www.motor-stickers.com/index.php?...cts_id=625
I've ordered some for my bike, used to be silver but the bike is now metallic black, the foxeye looks awesome in black and the decals for the silver bike work with black. I originally covered the decals then did a respray, looked perfect, but a few years on, I'm doing it properly, original decals off, proper respray and replace with brand new decals. Full set with shipping worked out at £49
OK, Decals off, looks better to me...will post a pic later
Regards their ability to be re-used - not a chance
