Carbon fibre parts
#1
Hi
When I bought my Fz1n, it had some carbon fibre parts fitted - tank cover and front and rear mudguards. I fancy a change and am putting the standard parts back on. I have no way of knowing who made them and wondered if anyone here had any ideas, and what they are worth ?;

Thanks for any help.

Difficult to say really, i think the rear fenders are circa £50 new, surely £30 is fair........i just got one of ebay for £23 posted but i was lucky.

The tank cover.......im stabbing in the dark a little bit.....i dont think yamaha did genuine yam carbon ones...or did they perhaps you can say as it is one?.......surely £40 or £50.

Front fender.......id even be i terested in having it please depending on price.......would you post it to me for £50?.........i havent really looked into prices on them before......seems fair for a second hand part although it is carbon so who knows......maybe someone ele wants to pay allot more......i just wouldnt prsonally thats al coz im spending a fortune at the mo.

Whats the plans for the bike anyway, it looks sweet as is?

Yam did do a genuine tank cover. I'd say 50 quid for the tank cover I got 50 plus post last month for mine. 50-60 for the front fender I'd say. Pity u don't have any cheap tank side covers in carbon for noggy someone outbid him last week on some.

Hi
Sorry for the late reply, just got in from a night shift. I don't know if they are Yam parts or not, they came on the bike although the first owner who bought all the bits did work for Yamaha. I am gonna swap the bits over this morning so will take some better pics once they are off the bike. I fancied putting the original black painted parts back on just for a different look really. Never been a big fan of carbon parts although these do look good quality. The previous owner spent a small fortune on this bike and I am supposing he went with carbon as part of the build. The wheels are lovely forged ally Dymags and will be staying !! Big Grin. I would prefer to sell as a job lot really - need the funds for another bike. I will get the parts off and see what you think.

Hi
Removed the parts today. All items are in excellent condition;

Each item still has a bar code sticker attached but I am none the wiser as to the manufacturer :rolleyes;

I don't know if they are Yamaha part numbers or not. Anyway, if any forum members are interested in them I would rather a foccer gets them as I don't like ebay ! Whats a fair price ?

Hi
Had a quick look on ebay last night and found a shroud the same as mine;

Am I right in thinking all the parts could be genuine Yamaha ? I will stick it on ebay if no one here is interested. Any idea what a fair reserve would be ?
Thanks

i got 50 quid for my gbmoto tank cover. That cover will only fit the fz1n model not the fz1s as dont have enough holes to mount the side panels through. Look genuine enough to me i would stick the tank cover on for 60 quid buy it now.

Hi
Ok, thanks for the info. I was thinking I would offer the 3 items for £120.00. Does that sound fair ?

I think that's a fair price....for someone with a naked that fancies an upgrade then what's £120 to have them all matching nicely. As much as i woulda had the front fender id rather someone had the 3 since they all match so well.

I reckon on ebay you could get even more......looks like genuine yamaha, to be safe on ebay dont state that as fact, just show pics of the barcodes and let the buyers decide then you wont have anyone whining about technicalities.
