Put a k & n on the bike.  Looked at rear caliper, realised it's pretty fooked, ordered new pads and seals from wemoto  and pm' dazza for help.

Went out in bright sunshine, down the 338 to Hungerford, then on towards Tidworth. Pulled in before heading across Salisbury Plain and stood for a moment looking at a foc-off great, dark angry cloud with an anvil top and just a solid wall of black underneath it....hmmm, that's right across my route  :\  Hang on a sec... it's headed right this way!  :eek  Run away, run away!!  :lol

So went back the way I came, and went through two major sleet storms; had to wipe the visor literally every couple of seconds and the road was actually white with icy ball-bearings, BUT.........every time I hit one of the best twisty bits, the road was dry and the sun came out  :b
But there were some very dodgy looking storms about. I wanted to stop to take some snaps of them, but I was busting for a piss so legged it home  :rolleyes

Very therapeutic!
And a good way to recycle flattened cardboard boxes!
Wont the bike feel good to ride when the warm Spring days finally arrive?

Got it serviced , callipers stripped down and serviced, brake fluid changed , sprockets looked at advised good for another 10,000kms. Noticed a big difference in the brakes they had been feeloing a bit spongy , now solid excellent, even had the ABS kick in, me fault.
Ride out planned for tomorrow.

Busy couple  days with the little fazer,so  today as ive got a week off and need the bike every day , i rebuilt the shock linkage, changed the oil and filter, and renewed the shagged head bearings. Also dropped off the wheels to get  some new avon storms put on the rims, and i also  fitted a new shock from the shock factory which im really impressed with. The standard shock was well past its best at 15000 miles and at 27000 miles was verging on a liability, with taking a passenger a complete no no..The new shock looks very well made (i can post a pic if anyones interested) and looks as nicely finished as the maxton unit on my r1.I had been looking for a shock for ages and took a punt on the shock factory unit as each shock gets sent with the spring for your weight/use, a c-spanner,2 year warranty and was  350 quid delivered to my door.Ive only done a few miles so far but the rear of the bike feels so much nicer, actually absorbing bumps intead of crashing up and down and wallowing about, ive left the shock on click 24 of 44 of adjustment and havent set the sag up yet but will do that tommorrow along with the twice yearly caliper service.Ill put a post up when ive set up the sag and put a few miles on it.
