I've always gone for DID VM chains myself (the gold ones). I tried to get a Renthal rear sprocket in black last time, but the guy I had it booked in with couldn't get it in time, so I just used JT sprockets front and rear (cheap from work  Smile ). I used to go only genuine on the front cos of the damper, but can't say I've really noticed any difference without that.

Just popped a new DID VX chain (not gold) on my 600. Seems reasonably. And can echo Nick's comments about front sprocket, not noticed any difference with non dampered genuine front one.

This kit in fact.

I can supply standard Yamaha OE JT in black or gold for £127,

Or

RK 530 GXW Race spec kit for £139

Or

DID 530 XVM-X Top spec kit for £154

I personally do not like DID kit, I know a lot of people swear by them, I have fitted and sold quite a lot of the standard fitment ones now and although a little dubious at first I have had good feedback from them.
