LOFO (plus hangers on) all day breakfast tour 2015 - 29/3/2015
#1
Hi Guys, I'm about to be a big girl by expecting blokes to plan in advance, BUT you never know it may actually work........ plus, my weekends are already getting filled (April is chocker block so far) so I want to guarantee at least one ride out this year.

Who fancies a ride out on Sunday March 29th?  Its the first day of spring so an extra hour of daylight.

I've not got an idea of route, we can let that one morph as this thread progresses and people join in BUT we must stop at at least 10 cafes throughout the day  :b  I'm thinking a couple of hundred miles with a stop by a coast somewhere........

Who's in?

So far:

Mmm mm brekkie crawl :b  I come off nights that morning so could be iffy. The Sunday before would be a guaranteed and Sunday after a strong posible whereas the 29th is a slim positivity

Where are you planning to have the first breakfasts?
Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad

Midden...... NOOOOOOOOOOO for pitys sake man sort your work dates out!  The week before and the week after are both out for me, this is my only available weekend until end of May  :eek  :\

Kosmic, I was actually thinking about coming your way maybe, we did South Coast last year, we could do east coast this year.  Is there anything exciting for Focers round your way?

Would others say yes to going north this time?  I'm sure Estuarybiker wouldn't mind, Red, you could pop along the top of the M25 to meet us, would that be ok?

Stiggy, where for art though Stiggy?  we need some tiger print (and media star) on the ride........

I got a book for my birthday last year, Bikers Britain, has some good rides.  One is The Best of Essex.  It's a loop from Saffron Waldon takes in Harwich and a little seaside town called Frinton on Sea (for ice cream) and passes through a medieval village called Lavenham and takes in Audley End, a stately home with a miniature railway in the grounds, choooo chooooo.  125 miles.  I'll scan a pic onto this thread, see what people think.

That route out to the Coast from Audley End is a cracker and can also involve Finchingfield and the Booking Hall cafe at Rayne....good theme of breakfast stops building up.  Happy to go with the general preference, South Coast not a problem either.

Tentatively stick my name down for this. 29th March is currently free on my calendar, with weekends prior and after busy.

Finchingfield, Frinton etc all sounds good. If you're feeling adventurous we could loop back via Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch before cutting back via Blackmore/Kelvedon Hatch and finish at Epping High Beach... Just some suggestions, not knowing the full details of the loop you have in mind.

Nice one Harry, look's like this is shaping up well.
Now which cafe to meet up in Sittingbourne?
How about Station cafe, although they don't open till 10 on a Sunday but their breakfast 6 is the nuts.  Smile

I went there the other week, Dazza, I wasn't too impressed, the food was ok and the tea was a bit rubbish, we need to find somewhere though, we can then head off to Nell's to pick up Midden (that's 2 in an hour which seems to be the correct ratio of breakfasts vs time given our history!)  :lol  We could then meet a couple at Thurrock services (another breakfast) and then paint our boots white, stick some heals on them before heading into Essex......

I assume a stop at Bosworths Tearooms in Finchingfield is on the cards, obviously...

Thurrocks services meetup works well for me too anyway.

Looks like a good route. Done some of that today on the way back from Frinton (Been to visit Father-in-Law wich is the only reason you'd want to go there).  :lol
