Hey snappy, welcome in

Do you have any pics of the bike.......just coz we love pics really thats all, not the exup Smile .

I dont have any practical experience with these Exups.......it's mainly the Gen1 thou owners that seem to have dealings with them although ive heard of someone getting a Gen2 exup and modding to fit the Gen 1 but that is by the by.

Dont quote me on this......but im pretty sure i've heard that whereas on the Gen1 thou the exup is an important bit of kit for the bikes performance........on the Gen2 like we've got it is only for noise purposes.....i cant remember where i heard it but im pretty sure my exup is gone without any dodgy effects.....im sure there's an exup eliminate mod.

Perhaps someone else will come along soon, could be an option for you.

No probs

I didnt actually answer your question but it does seem that you dont need it so thats gotta be a bonus.

I did a quick search and on this thread (link below) Locksmith mentions that it is only in the FZ1 for EU noise rules so that kinda backs up my thoughts.

Bloody hell I was almost talking sensibly back then :lol

Don't worry about the exup, I imagine it only moves at a certain revs so when being tested for EU approval it passed some db limit (I think!!)

The exup motors or servo is practically the same on a Gen1 as it is on a Gen2. I fitted the gen2 servo to mine as it was way cheaper and it works just the same.

If you want to replace the exup instead of the eliminator there is a few on eBay

On the Gen 1s, the EXUP gives you more torque low down by increasing backpressure. At a set RPM, the servo opens, and you get better exhaust flow for your power. Smile

the motor dosnt actualy move at any rpm or on start up..........................the cables are free and valve is fine and moves ...........THE MOTOR WONT MOVE ???????????????????????????? :rolleyes

Just remove it or disconnect it. When I bought my gen2 it still had original exhaust can and exup, when I changed the can there is no provision in the link pipe that came with it for the exup valve to fit to. There is no difference in performance without it, unlike the gen1.
