Changed the oil and filter, took front wheel off to get a new tyre fitted but tyre shop was closed when I got there, used to open all day Saturday but now closes at one o`clock. Day off on Wednesday so get it fitted then, a new Contimotion, they were on when I bought the FZ1 and i can`t fault them for my style of riding.

I had a plan that involved riding a Fazer on a quick recky to some garden centres and to try out my new Gerbing heated gloves... AWSOME TOASTY HANDS. Got pretty squirrely and sideways out of some of the corners. Makes you feel alive, especially when you hit mud in the middle of the road and you realise your actually out of control doing about XX5mph... Ooops 55mph. Long time since I've had that slow motion feeling when you think it's all going to end in tears by the side of the road.

:eek
Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad

Roughed out a brk to mount a bellypan,
removed front wheel, mudguard, pads, calipers and cleaned
Painted ends or rad to cover a few stone chips

Now thinking about getting wheels painted or power coated

I came across an brand new display model MRA Spoiler screen at half price and bought it. Washed the Fazer 1000 and fitted the Screen. Looks good  Smile , now to get some reasonable weather to try it on a long trip with it.

Today it was rear end of the bikes turn to get some TLC, wheel out, old sprocket off along with the rear disc taken off, wheel then had wot I class as a deep clean (in all the nocks n cranys) cleaned rear disc, then refitted it with titanium disc bolts also have titanium sprocket nuts as well, then moved onto the swingarm which also had a good clean and while I was there I fitted new stainless steel chain adjuster bolts, the exhaust had to come off to gain access to the brake torque arm which is getting replaced by a custom one, so the can and link pipe got the cleaning treatment as well, gone are the strap marks, then onto the rear caliper stripped it all down and cleaned it up (pins were a little difficult to get out) copper slipped a few bits and its all back together again, ordering a new chain n sprocket kit tomorrow then I can get the rear end all buttoned up, then onto the engine, overall the bike wasn't to bad but there's always room for improvement......(a few more photos of other clean stuff in tomorrows instalment...lol)

I have that exhaust, I drilled out the rivet that holds in the baffle and then spent the next few days searching for a bolt and nut small enough to put it back in! Thought the Balrog from lord of the rings was sat on my pillion seat, was making my helmet vibrate my skull and ear drums!

Mines not got the baffle in either but I have to say mines got a lovely growl I think the exup valve mutes the sound a little

Sold it (well part-ex).

It had 19k on the clock when I got it 9 years ago and it had 55059 when I got off for the last time.

Bloody good bike - I did just over 35,000 miles and other than 2 punctures (one at home and one at work) I never broke down.

Fired mine up this morning and give the bike a spin up and down back tenfoot for ten minutes then had to dive for cover back in garage due to sleet/snow shower, after seeing Rexr's nice bike pictures i'm feeling guilty about neglecting mine now, iv'e added an XT660 to the stable recently and been paying a lot more attention to my new girl than my old one last couple of months, think it's time to get thermals back on and go back to garage and give the old girl a bit of tlc, she's been a faithful friend for 11 years and over 70000 miles together, she deserves better!. Hope she forgives me!!.
