FOR SALE: Yamaha FZS600 1998
#1
I am reluctantly having to sell my lovely Yamaha Fazer 600.

Its a 1998 R registered bike with 17,000 on the clock. It has just had a fresh MOT and is ready to go.

I have owned it for 2 years and it has given me great pleasure. Since I have owned it I have given it a top to bottom freshen up with 2 x oil and filter changes, a new fuel filter a new air filter (all parts genuine Yamaha), a new clutch cable, new chainguard, a new set of Conti RA2 tyres, Venhill brakelines front and rear (not pictured), an SP Racing exhaust (original included), flushed and replenished coolant, fitted a stainless rad guard,  stripped front and rear brake calipers and replaced the pads and replaced various tarnished fastners (all original Yamaha).I also removed the engine casings and had them powdercoated which I then refitted with new gaskets and I replaced the chain with a Gold DID uprated chain. I am positive there are other things I have also done but my mind escapes me. I have a new upgraded front sprocket nut and 'tab washer' set that will also be included.

She is in excellent cosmetic condition for a 16 year old bike and rides as she should. Being totally honest she has a couple of scuffs on the wingmirrors and there is a bit of engine paint flake in the area of the header pipes so it can't really be seen unless you are on your hands and knees. Oh yes, I also removed the header pipes and had them blasted and painted with HT paint. They were in excellent, solid condition and have never been welded or bodged so it would have been rude not to re use them. They were refitted with a new gasket set.

She comes fitted with a Spyball alarm with 2 x keys and keyfobs and is registered to me. I therefore have the V5 and all the old MOT's and service pack inclusive of the service history.

I will also include a 25mm 'jack up' kit which I did have fitted but reverted back to the original dogbones a few months ago.

The bike is located in Coalville in Leicestershire and I am looking for £1350 due to the mileage and condition. I will not be giving her away and have enjoyed every minute of owning her. This is a very reluctant sale but I think you will be hard pushed to find a nicer, cleaner example. I always clean her after every ride and use top quality cleaning products and ACF50 to keep her looking her best.

If you have any questions just send me a PM and I will respond as soon as I can.

Pictures to follow.

Regards, Lez

Can I just congratulate you on an absolutely lovely bike. She is a credit to you and in my humble opinion worth every penny that you are asking. I own a 14 year old 600 myself that gets used 5 days a week and I must say and she has served me well for over 10 years, hard to find a more reliable machine. I also own a gen 1 thou that I regard as my weekender  Big Grin . You don't see many 600's as old as yours in such pukka condition. I hope you find a good home for her my friend, whoever owns her next will have a cracking machine.  :thumbup

Thankyou for your kind words Neon Knight. She really is a little beauty and if I didn't need the funds I wouldn't be even considering selling. Like you I also have a Gen 1 weekender so all's not lost  :'(

Really shocked this hasn't had more interest. £1250 is an absolute bargain, that was as low as I dropped mine when I went to sell last year and in the end decided to keep it as it was just not getting interest at what I thought was also a bargain but yours is even better than mine was. I have never had any trouble selling any of my previous bikes, even made a profit on 2 of them, but my Fazer just would not sell! I'm pretty glad I didn't in the end, but I am always conscious that as much as I like it I have made a big loss on it in depreciation or whatever. I blame all the new MT series and even the FZ 8 / 1 leading to people selling good Fazers for dirt cheap meaning there's no choice but to have to match them at these low prices if you want any chance of a sale. Good luck mate anyway lovely bike.

Great looking bike but wrong time of year, take a look on ebay at VFR750's as a prime example to what can be had for that kind of money.

It would appear so. Nobody has even took the time to come and have a look yet. I know if someone came and looked at it they would buy it but that seems like the hard part. I really wanted someone on here to get 1st dibs before the weary Ebay as I just can't handle all the ridiculous questions like "will you take £600 for a quick sale. I have cash waiting mate?"

Come on guys, you know it makes sense.

Lez, she is a beauty and worth every penny.

My son is currently using mine as he is struggling to find a bike of his own. unfortunately he just doesnt have the money to buy this off you and i would gladly lend it him but for xmas still haunting my bank account.

However, if you don't get much luck on eBay then give me a shout and i may be able to stretch to a loan for him to buy it ???? Wink
