hi guys,
i`m having a problem getting a battery for my 2000 fzs 600sp, all the listings show the battery to be 86mm wide but mines 68mm. has anyone else had this problem? where did you manage to source one from. ps ...cheap new 86mm battery for sale..bought a bosch one :\
My old 2000 SP had a different sized battery from was listed, I assumed its just one of those things as I havent seen any other FZS with that sized battery

Hi darrsi, that part number is for the 86mm one....its too wide
The listing says 69mm in the Ebay blurb. Just measured my Varta in my 2003 Foxeye and it's 68/69mm. I thought they were all that width. Are you sure you've been given the right one ?

Are you sure you wasn't referring to the spec list for the Thundercat when you bought your (too wide) battery?.That takes the wider fitment. The battery in darrsi's link is standard across all the 600 Fazers as far as I can see.I've bought 2x YT12B-BS for my 2003 foxeye & they fit perfect. What is the code on the Bosch battery?.
That battery will fit, not only is it listed for your specific bike but the correct dimensions are there as well.

Cheers guys, I bought the Bosch battery from halfords, I also had a quick google and found Tanya batteries (Tanya .co.uk) they list 6 different makes all 86/87mm wide.
Just a guess, but it sounds to me like you may have purchased the Bosch equivalent of Yuasa YTX12-BS.That's,amongst others,a Thundercat battery.(150x87x130mm).
The YTX12-BS is the wrong battery for the 1998 to 2003 Fzs600 :wall
The correct battery as mentioned in previous posts is the YT12B-BS :thumbup
My old SP model had a YTX12BS, I know it goes against what it says should be fitted and I dont know why it had it but thats the size the battery box was.

The YT12B-BS has higher Cranking Amps rating, better for cold morning starts.
I have also seen a few with the YTX battery, it does fit but it is a tight fit
