I made the mistake of taking a good look at the welds on the modified subframe of Ella my FJ ratfighter....eeeeekkkk! looks like the previous owner was a numpty and needs his welder taken off of him. In a fit of stupidity I cut the whole load off and started again....Doh! But on the plus side it means I can get rid of the hideous R1 tail unit in favour of something far sexier.
Here's the new subframe frabricated out of some old FZS wrap around engine bars:

Lighting storm took out our internet router and network switch last night, foc :grumble
Blew the line transformer off the internet broadband router see pictures
It tripped out the 30ma trip for the sockets which lighting always does and for the first time since I built the house 28 years ago, it tripped the 300ma trip I have on the house lights circuit.
The crack from the lighting was so great I thought it had hit the house and went outside to check, thankfully everything was still intact.
There was no discernible time delay between the lighting and the peel of thunder and it appears to have hit the farmers shed just over 500m away. :eek

A bit suspicious that all of those failsafes.........failed aint it?
All the evidence points to your wife disabling said components under the cover of a storm :lol ......"ill show him & his fazer club!".......watch out for the bikes being set alight during the next solar mass ejection :b
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike
160 mile round trip on the XJ600 to Anglesey for the Wirral 100 club race meeting, last one of the season at Trac Mon. Frost on cars when I left at 8am, warmed up later.
Very mild today. 100 mile round trip to Abergele, Colwyn Bay, back to Wrexham. Called at the Ponderosa, Horseshoe Pass, for a bite to eat. For once, my 25 year old bike wasn't the oldest in the car park.

My goodness an Ariel "Bleader"-bet that smoked a bit going up the Pass! :lol
Rebuilt Ella the FJ with her winter clothes... The abbreviated subframe was taking far too long (so will be shelved until the new year & the airbrushed bodywork from my old Drag FJ has been fitted

It hasn't changed much, I just took out the wankered Transalp lump and put in a Bros one (same engine) Oh I did pull off the barbed wire graphics ready for the new Panzer Corps insignias.... And I removed the wanky rack from the back and put a Foxeye grab rail on
