Problems starting!
#1
Symptoms: Ignition switched and on attempting to start - it starts successfully on an intermittent basis. When it fails to start - the engine doesn't turn over and I get a clicking noise coming from underneath the seat. If I keep trying to turn over it generally will turn over and start eventually. When the motor fails to turn over, the Rev counter goes up to the 7000 mark, stays for a few seconds before returning back to zero - does this indicate a particular fault? The battery has recently been replaced. Starter motor also replaced. Any ideas?

Clicking noise is classically when you don't have enough juice in the battery to turn the engine and the relay clicks.

Not sure on the 7k issue though, sounds like you could have an earthing problem maybe if the battery is good. Have you tested the battery though, as with other common threads, it's not unknown for a 'new' battery to not hold power.

7k code is Exup valve so is most likely not related to the starting issues.
