Fitting new MIVV exhaust! RESULTS!

Hi Guys,


I took the plunge and got MIVV GP exhaust in carbon black which arrived yesterday. I am in two minds about either fitting it myself or getting a garage to do it. I am not a mechanic or anything but have a set of tools I use to change oil and do some little things around the bike and DIY


Looking at the instruction it seems like a straightforward job no cutting required or anything. Am I missing something? Where is the trick if any? For those who fitted an aftermarket exhaust yourself how long did the job take?

It's straight forward m8 took me half hour tops, if u can change the oil and filter then changing the exhaust is easy

Fitting an end can is a lot easier than doing an oil change, and you will find the more you do easy stuff like that it all helps to gain confidence for the more complex jobs.

I was in the same situation as you with my gen 2 so I had a go and appart from nuts and bolts being a bit shit it was an easy job.

Just finished fitting and it was very simple job indeed. Just two bolts really... Very pleased with looks, just started her for a sec and it's a nice growl now...in addition to some more BHP! Didn't want to annoy neighbours at this hour 


DB killer is fitted with a rivet. I presume the head needs to be drilled out to and then it will fall out?

Could be the photo angle but it looks like you have the clamp fitted incorrectly.  You seem to have put one end of the clamp either side of the mount.  Both ends should be together.

it's just photo! They are together on outside end. The bracket would not fit properly otherwise

I drilled my rivet out before putting the can on the bike.......as for the foccer said above yes it does look like u've made a mistake, with my Mivv there was a long mounting bolt with a big cotton reel type spacer, I junked this and used a shorter bolt......(both ends of the clamp should be mated together on the outside of the foot peg bracket)

I used original bolt which is a bit too long to be frank. I still used the reel spacer on the inside as per instructions with clamps mated on the outside. It feels solid.


I presume you drilled the head inside the exhaust? I will see about the noise with baffle in and might get the baffle out

Hi Guys,


I uncovered the bike today and what the hell have I done was the question coming to mind. As some of you pointed out correctly I bolted the bracket on both sides! I adjusted quickly...


Now this sound is lovely. Not high pitched but deep growl changing into scream on higher revs. I will take the baffle out for comparison but so far I am well pleased.

mivv gp sounds great, noisier than stock and nice growl, took the baffle out but too noisy and kinda in your face so now baffle back in
