dripping coolant
#1
Just checking, did a track day recently, did three sight laps and the track day was red flagged for a Ducati leaking oil.

They stopped us all on track, and while we were stopped, engines still ticking over, my fazer600 started to drip coolant. Well it's was bluey green watery fluid.

Is this normal, never noticed this before. This was before ragging the life out of her.

Anything to do with expansion tank? I do t think there is a leak with the coolant storage. It's parker on my pathway at home never seen a leak.

If you have a clogged up system the fluid will boil and overflow out of the expansion tank.
Sounds like you need the Radflush treatment and some new coolant.

What area was the leak coming from? At the very least you should check the coolant level. It probably needs a top up.

What i should've mentioned as well is if it was overfilled to begin with that would also cause it to dump any excess on the floor once it expands, so yeah if you check the levels when the bike is cool and it looks okay then it may just be that.
If the expansion tank is empty and it leaked towards the rear then the chances are you either have a blocked system, or if it's leaking from the front end then maybe loose jubilee clips on the pipes.

Either way, as the Dude says check your levels anyway if you're riding it as you don't know how much has leaked out.
