Dropped my yokes 10mm down the forks on tye FZ1....gonna go a gentle bimble to work on her tonight & see if it is noticeable....& more importantly whether i tightened up the yokes enough.

You'll definately notice noggy, speeds up the steering quite a bit.

Noggy i have brought mine up through about 8mm, i went for a good ride last night, no problems at all,it cornered brilliant, felt planted,


better than before?  dunno but if was good,under full acceleration at higher revs i noticed no steering wobble at all,,but i also took two notches back off the rear damping, i really did enjoy the fast sweepers on the power.


i was also testing the reajusted positions of the Gilles rearsets,,it all feels fine now.


so now to try a couple of different maps on the pc3, see if they feel different.

Oil and filter change. Carbon fibre fender extender turned up today, so will get that fitted shortly.

Well, didn't really mean to go that far, but went for a quick spin at about 4:45pm, and wound up atop the Malvern Hills - saw them from a distance of about 20 miles whilst winding across the Cotswolds to Tewkesbury, and thought foc it!





And then back via A417 & A40.

Had to outrun a big foc off rain cloud which gave me a light dousing and then tried to follow me - but it wasn't yellow, so not fast enough, hehe

Got up with the intent of cleaning the carbs today.

Got stuck on the second screw which threatened to round, threw the spanner across the room in frustration, and did foc all all day instead.

I need to give myself a kick in the arse somehow.  :o

discovered I have a clicking from the front end - sounds like steering bearing

Fixed the carbon fender extender to the front, put the suspension settings back to standard and raised the forks 10mm back to standard.

Did the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) Enhanced Riders Scheme, got bollocked for going too fast, got a B ('good level of riding ability demonstrated') so hope to get some insurance discount.

Was free from work so took the opportunity, will look into more advanced training.

The Z1R sounded very sweet with the Kerker pipe - the other, an "R5", very interesting.

Picked this up for my son yesterday and arrived home late last night. He is thrilled as it will be the first bike he has bought and have in his own name.
I think he rides to fast and after a month of searching I found a slow Blue one for him  :lol with 10298 miles and all MOT certs to validate the mileage. We drove 320 miles to look at it and another 320 back with it.  Paid £1900, not cheap but good value considering condition and mileage.

Taxed until October 2014 and MOT valid until April 2015, New Bridgestone BT023 tyres. It has some very small scratches from Bungee cords on the decals of the tail piece on both sides, a small piece broken on the belly pan and on the hugger (from overtightened screws) easily fixed. Someone fitted beam deflectors to the inside of the headlamps and they need to be removed as they are burned (not fitted properly) and one has damaged the reflector, Another easy fix as I have a reflector from a broken unit. New cheapo battery (Blue Label) but I have a 1 year old spare Yuasa which I bought for the 400 only to discover the Solonoid switch was causing the slow starting not the battery. F1 International Restrictor kit included which was on the bike for 4 years from 2006 to 2010.
aven't told him yet that the blue ones are the slowest  :lol

Next job is to fix the small issues, fit a Meta Alarm and Givi Rack.

Compression tested it, found it's buggered (valves suspected) and sold it :\

Might get another in a few months if I can pick one up cheap, otherwise I fancy a Burgman or other 600+cc twist + go

Quite a challenge fitting them, and its a good job i had new heated grips to go on.

replaced my (crudely straightened) bent rear brake pedal with a new one

Finally got off my arse, and connected the oil cooler up. Also sorted the oil main feed, thanks to the banjo bolts I got from Deefer. Just need a few.hose clips, and the cooling system is done. Also got a knackered 170 tyre off Deefer for the swingarm fitting.

Slowly but surely.
