Hello all. Finally registered to the board, though I have been an occasional, silent reader for many years.
I own my FZ1 Gen1 since 2004. Did a lot of modifications to it, mostly electrical. A few might know me as the "inventor" of the multi-gauge. That was also my final motive to register, to give first hand informations and support, if requested.
I'm located in Germany so please excuse if some of my writings might sound a bit funny. Still learning..

Hi Christian... I think i speak for everyone in saying we are so happy that u have registered here. We have Falcon269 who has ivanised just about every ivanised bike in the UK and Devilsyam who has supplied most R6 rear shocks to fzs 1000 owners in the UK and now we have Schlumpf who has multi-gauged All multiguaged bikes in the UK... Lol.. Please tell is a little about how u came to own an FZ1 and a little of your biking history and how you had the idea of inventing the multigauge.... I think we ALL wait your answer with much anticipation.

Sounds all really positive & even Exupnut wasn't sarcastic towards you so you must really have made an impact with these multi-gauge devices.......may i ask what colour your FZS is?.......please don't say Blue......so slow!




About the only unfortunate thing about this whole introduction is that you have a name that is a bit similar to one of our most infamous members.....actually i think he will be a mascot some day.......you must know him if you have visited recently...

Devilsyam and Falcon are very familiar to me for years. Very good to see them around.
I don't like to be present in too many forums. So, apart from the german forum, I posted mostly in the FZ1OA. Mainly to support on gauge's questions but also for all electrcial stuff. That's my main field of competence. My day work is developing smart phones.
My FZ1 (FZS1000 to be precise) is from 2002, black, bought it in 2004. Have done more than 65k kilometers so far. Of course Ivanized and reworked suspensions. The look is almost stock. After many years on several FJ1200 it was the perfect replacement back than. Though carbs are out since some time it is more than sufficient for my standards.
The gauge started back in 2004/5. Intentially I only wanted to have a gear indicator but it turned out to be the best solution to replace the fuel gauge. Since then I implemented more and more functions and made it as perfect and reliable as possible. Doing this over the years I touched almost every electrical aspect of the FZ1. Most of it is documented on my website, unfortunately in german.
I have to admit that I did not follow enough to be aware of the  :evil member ..
