& doing some fazer soul searching......junes Scotland bike trip may be the only chance i get at it over the next few years so i might just take the FZ & strip the 600 early........been out a few times on the 600 & while it is really flickable & far superior around town i am addicted to the pure grunt of the thou now.....it is immense.....the engine roar is really cool too but i have to say that with my end can it is a bit too noisy......never thought id say that either.......it has the baffle in too.

If you want to move the parts on earlier let me know

Just been out for a spin to test out the positions and function of the new Gilles rearsets.

Footpeg positions fine, seem the same as before,

Brake pedal is too low,so that has to come up 15mm

Gearchange is too high, have to lift toes up too much,, so all an easy fix tomorrow,

The narrower pegs did not seem a problem,,i suppose its the sole of the bike boots being hard so not rolling od the peg ends.

When i was warming the bike up at 8 oclock pm,,four bikes went past,, ,five minutes up the road i saw a blue light flashing,,they had been pulled by a grey skoda police unmarked car,,he had them, helmets off, in a line giving them a stern talking too,,haha,,i managed to slow down to 70 a cruised past them :lol

Got myself a puncture in the arse end of nowhere (entrance to the West Midlands Water Ski Centre) on a 3 week old frigging tyre! Crafty Pluggered it up only to find my foot pump is useless, so had to wait for a kind passer-by to lend me their foot pump. Would you believe I stopped 9 cars before someone actually had a pump? I'm pretty sure they were just making excuses.  :\
Broken, bruised, forgotten, sore,
too fucked up to care any more.

Washed it, fitted a legal sized number plate, changed the fuel filter because one came with the bike and just generally familiarised myself with whats what.

Fitted the Gillies rearsets I got off of Brooker81, looked like a Chinese puzzle at first with all the bits and bobs, had to adjust the gear lever as it was too high for my liking, then the brake light switch as it was on all the time. Also had to put a short length of black hose on the side stand so I can get to it with my boots on. Centre stand just hits the gear lever side so temporarily wrapped a bit of insulation tape round the stand and rearsets to prevent it from marking until I can adjust them, don't really want to lose the centre stand....But, quite worryingly as usual had some bits left over. Can anyone throw some light on what these are for ? More concerned about the long internally threaded bush.

Probably an extensiion for the gear lever mate, if you adjust the footpegs to extremes you'll find the current bar is too long/short to adjust the lever properly, so its to sort that out Smile

Decided to take the end can off and remove the cat ready for the new exhaust tomorrow. Didn't go quite the way it did on you tube.  The bolts that hold the exup cover plate on were made of cheese and  rounded off at the sight of an allen key. I thought ok if that's the way you want to play ill undo the cables from the other end. After a bit of a fight I cut the cables undid the banjo clamp and took the lot off foccer style. Round two was tbe cat.  A bit of drilling and cursing and the tongs out of the kitchen and im ready for the new end can tommorow.  What could possibly go wrong.
