What does is the end result - is it set up for the track, or for comfortably circumnavigating the world?

The end result bud is that it's faster, better handling, more comfortable & hence more fun than most others  8)

New price, see 1st post.

The top quality aftermarket parts actually cost me more than I'm now asking for the full bike.  :eek
This has to be a real steal at this price. Don't be put off by the mileage either as the motor runs strong & powerful & the oil never needs topping up between service intervals.
I'm still amazed it hasn't sold. Btw, it's also on ebay & mcn & will reduce it on those sites as well.

Now up for auction:

With any luck I may be able to afford a tank of juice for my s1r  :lol

Hope it sells mate. You should add that it will only cost £150 to deliver anywhere in mainland Britain. I recently bought a gen 1 from cardiff and it cost £120 to be delivered in Glasgow.
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

Has the Fazer gone to a new home yet?

Also I am after a set of stock down pipes /headers if you have them for sale.

If it's got more than 2 wheels it's a car!

Auctioned it on ebay & it didn't reach the reserve of £3k. lololol. Anyone interested in a one owner meticulously maintained tastefully modded FZ1 gen2 that is as fast as all of the modded gen2's & faster & better handling than any gen1. Well anyone?

I wish i had another few grand. :b

Seriously i can quite believe that it is a really clean bike Dek......actually ill even go as far as say that it is probably significantly cleaner than the one i just bought.....& dont get me wrong i love my new bike but there's a couple of little jobs in the deep clean department i need to do & one pita job which is a rusty rim (he he) around the tank filler & then a good seeing to around the headers area is required for future longevity i reckon...apart from that theres not much to them......all engine.

It actually annoys me every time i see these posts coz i get buyers remorse but hey it is all hindsight & i couldn't have foreseen your bike going so low or even still being for sale & mine came up also at a fair but good price for me.

But im trying to think of who buys a gen2 right now.....i'm inclined to not say gen 1 owners but more the likes of me on 600's.....reasonably young & after something more sporty.......& yep you have all the must have mods......i am actually gonna struggle with myself to not upgrade mine to similar spec because that will just make me feel even worse about it all.....i have a fce & a nice can & shock & the bike is quick so i gotta try be sensible about it.....plus i hate to say it too but I'm pretty bla-ze about insurance but i think most potential buyers my age will be worried about insuring your bike....maybe not in standard form though but the mods list does scream increased premiums.......older blokes with dosh are going for the new breeds of bikes like the MT & BMW's......sportsbike riders perhaps wrongly turn their nose up at the fazers but i followed a few on my first real dry run & i didnt struggle to keep up.

All that being said....i woulda had it....there must be more like me out there.....

Actually there's only one solution.....sell the BMW Big Grin

I think you're right about the type of buyer who'd be interested. With all these new great bikes about & various finance schemes available who'd want an 8 yr old bike when they can have new & those who can't or don't want finance probably struggle to get the 3-5k readies anyway.
Couple that with the unfair reputation the gen2 has & it all adds up to me owning a lemon.  Smile Mind you even the gen1 which has had a good press over the years sells at way under what the bike is really worth.
Anyway, I'll reduce the bin price & readvertise it.

Sold to one very lucky buyer for £2900.
I hope he gets as much enjoyment out of it as I have over the last 8 years.
Anyway, thanks to those who took an interest just a shame it wasn't to be for you.

Good timing aswell because I picked up my s1r yesterday. The salesman put it in rain mode until I got used to it, yeah right, so as soon as I was out of shot it was switched to road mode & full power. OMFG, it's one crazy fast beast. Fkin brilliant machine.

cheers
