MCE - DIRTY LYING F**KERS!!!
#1
Just waited 19 minutes to speak to one of these so called professionals about my policy which I paid in full on the 21st of last month, so call handler answers after ridiculous waiting time and asks how he can help, I say "firstly can you explain to me why I have been waiting 19 minutes on an 0844 number?" he then tells me that they are actually closed? So I ask him why is there not a recorded message at the beginning of the call to allow me to hang up and NOT stay on the line thinking someone will pick up? He then changed his mind and say's that they are open but not expecting calls??? WTF????

I then ask why haven't I received my documents after all of this time, he then tries to tell me that they were sent out the day I took the policy out and as a back up they also sent them via email.  He asks me to confirm email addy along with home address which I do and yes that's them, so where are the documents then ???? - smells like horseshit to me!! I fucking hate insurance companies with a passion and when shit like this happens that anger goes super sonic, so basically it costs me my time and money to call the Dick Turpins for something that should have been done in the first place with no hassle AND NOT ON MY TIME!!!

I took out a policy with MCE about 3 weeks ago and have also yet to receive my documents in (I did receive the email with them in though).

Ive not had posted documents for the last 2-3 insurance policies Ive had, so have just accepted the email as the norm.. trying to save the rainforest and all that jazz I think.

if it was the other way round, and they were waiting for your docs, ie proof of no claims, they would charge you £25 fee.

Not always the case BUT

Its not always entirely the fault of the company, but more rather the fecking retards they hire for customer support.

At least once a week (usually more often) I have to correct the ridiculous crap that one of the support staff has told a customer because they didn't do their job properly and investigate. I'm so glad my position isn't customer facing...

Had an issue recently where the customer had an issue paying for their policy - fair enough, shit happens sometimes. Support Staff tell them that they have paid for their policy and proceed to contact the "IT" guys to sort out what's going on... which naturally got forwarded on to me. Turns out the customer has NOT paid for their policy and hence why it hasn't been issued to them. Wasn't even our fault either (too much detail to explain)... and now its likely that the customer has a bad opinion...

I've been insured before and not received documents for 4 months, probably MCE too thinking about it.
It's irritating but no big deal, as long as you've parted with your hard earned and there's evidence of it then the police can easily check your status.
Saying that, my insurance is on my birthday in June every year and i couldn't for the life of me tell you who i'm insured with, as i change companies most years, and do it online.
I see the £££ signs, not the company name!  :look

I've just taken out my new policy with mce as they were by far the cheapest with my declared mods and previous accidents.
I was with Swinton before and will never go back to them as they misinformed me on several occasions about different things!

MCE are just down the road from here in Wellingborough, why not do a little ride out and camp up in the recpection of their big posh offices until documents arrive?

I have found on the comparison websites that fiddling with the excess levels can get you cheaper quotes. Bizarrely, some companies charge less with lower excess than others do with higher excess as their system doesn't recognise the excess figure, they don't quote.

I decided to stay with the company I'm insured with now, for £105 and £100 excess, so MCE are taking the piss!
