Took it for it's MOT at one of my local Yamaha dealers. Passed with no problems! First time I've owned a bike old enough for an MOT since 1981 !!!! I forgot how much it was like waiting in the dentist waiting room LOL !

Went for a 70 mile ride around south Shropshire then towards Clee Hill (Ludlow direction) back through Bewdley Kidderminster finishing @ Streetbike,Halesowen. Rhonnda Red was surrounded by 4 police BMWs-the guys were out on a training ride & like myself called in for a drink & bite to eat. Beautiful weather & scenery-Road surfaces generally good.

Changed the oil and filter on the 1000, put the 600 tank cover on it to enable me to fit the tank bag without have to worry about marking the tank, checked coolant and tyre pressures and now its all ready for the Fridays 300 odd mile trip for the NW200 on Saturday. Smile

Bought 4L paraffin @ B&Q-last time bought some was 2/6 a gallon (but that was 1965!). Thoroughly cleaned chain and sprockets, relubed & checked adjustment.
Then decided to wash bike followed by a pleasant hour in the sun polishing! Battery fully charged ready to rock & roll tomorrow/weekend :lol

Had a bit of an arse twitcher on the motorway today, dropped a gear to overtake a lorry and my bike just cut out. Dead. During rush hour too.

Managed to coast to the hard shoulder, tried firing it up again and it backfired bigtime before ticking over like nothing happened. Second time it's done that now, if we didn't have a kid on the way I'd be chopping it in for a new FZ1.  :\

Broken, bruised, forgotten, sore,
too fucked up to care any more.

Refitted the rear wheel after fitting new bearings last night.....wheel spins real smooth, think I was confusing bearing noise with chain noise  :o :o :o.........should notice the difference on the next ride  Big Grin
