legal-ish solicitory type question
#1
my google foo is weak.
firstly, yes i know they are all cheating lying bastards.
secondly, the CLB's dealt with the mother-in-laws affairs when she died. after they had finally sorted it all out (18 months of procrastination) there was £3000 left over after their fees, which they put in a client account.
then the father-in-law died and after an initial consultation and an ESTIMATE of £10k + vat to deal with his affairs they were told they are SNLR.
anyway, the crux of the matter is they kept the £3k from the one estate until they receive payment for the reading of the will and quote for 'professional services'.
the money isn't an issue, it's the fact that they are using money from one estate that has been paid for as leverage (lien) against another bill. considering the F-i-l paid £1100 for the will (which apart from the basic 'he gets this and you get that' is 18 pages of unenforceable drivel) we are pretty miffed at their leech like attitude.
if a solicitor would like to pm that would be nice or just feel free to slag off our esteemed legal profession
The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money!

Contact their Ombudsman saying that you believe they're acting illegally and immorally, incorrectly withholding monies and as them to look into it.

Might help, might not, but gotta be worth a try.
