McIvanising (Scotland Ivanising)
#21
OK, back home again and ready to field questions properly. Smile

First, preferred dates for me would be Friday 26 Sep to Sunday 28 Sep inclusive.  October is out completely, earlier in Sept might be possible but only if the proposed dates are a non-starter for everyone.

If anyone wants full 'chapter and verse' on the Ivanising options, drop me a line (mikegreatorexAThotmail.com) and I'll answer you directly.

Hi Mike,

welcome back matey! hope you had a good holiday.

I wouldnt mind the full info on it, so ill fire you back over an email now. Those dates will be fine for me personally, plenty of time for me to make sure im free for the day and to hide some money from the wifes clutches :lol.

Not sure that will enhance Nick, sure it will cut down a bit of weight, what about the degree advancer, and if the carbs are coming out there must be other stuff.

It won't improve performance, but it makes changing plugs or removing cam cover a lot easier. I have a 4 degree ignition advancer, which gives more midrange, but a fraction less outright power. Fitting the full monty with carb rubber/air box mods is as good as it gets unless you fit a full akrapovic system or similar (££££££££££££ :'( ) Fitting a full system also gets rid of the exup valve.
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

Back up we go. Come on you tight Scottish foccers. Best bit of money you can spend on a gen 1!

Just so people know, this is also open to anyone else in England/the borders who is willing to make the ride up to have it done (still unconfirmed wether it will be Edinburgh or Glasgow, but it's looking more like Glasgow at this point I think).

no worries Andrew, looks like there should still be spaces available nearer the time anyway. Still plenty of time to see how your fixed for it Smile

I would say so. There are literally hundreds of guys on here who have had their bikes ivanised by Mike over the years, and I've never read even one person say it was not a worthwhile mod. That's good enough for me Smile

I had my bike Full Monty'd by Mike mid May and have just been on a bike trip in France for a week. The bike was faultless with considerably more mid range grunt than standard and a stronger power delivery in the higher rev range. The fuelling is spot on and you can drop right down to low revs and it just pulls cleanly as you accelerate. I was interested to see what the mods would do to the MPG which averaged at 49 mpg before and 50.5 mpg after. See picture below. The lowest (48 mpg) was a fast motorway blast from Bournemouth to Folkestone. The other fills were French roads. I would thoroughly recommend having this work done. [Image: y9yqy3y4.jpg]

First time I've seen extended fuel consumption records on a Full Monty'ed Gen 1 ... that's impressive.  Thanks for posting. Smile
