Carb rubbers
#1
I noticed my carb rubbers are cracking
I laughed a my mate who said there be about £80 for a set

I started to have a look around the net
I have to say I also laughed at some of the prices
Anything from £80 up to £130

Are people having a laugh with these prices

Anyone know of retailer to sell these at a realistic price

"They all do that Sir".

Seriously though, they could well show signs of cracking on the outside but could still be very serviceable. The cracks have to be pretty bad for them to affect the running of the bike. Cosmetically they look rubbish but unless your bike is running like a bag of spanners I would save your money.

Regards
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

Smear some black silicone in your crack and then wrap some self almalgamateing tape around the shaft

From what I can see its only the outside ones dur to sun damage perhaps?
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

I can confirm if your carb rubbers are only externally cracked and you're happy with a quick cosmetic fix, a single strip of amalgamating tape with a small overlap so it grips works well.  Save yourself loads of beer tokens in the process.

I've put a smdge of gasket sealant round the outside 2

Will spray some quick start or carb clear while the end is running
If the revs pick up then I know I need replacements

I bought mine from M&P the other day, delivered yesterday. Tourmax stuff, it was £89.99 but getting the Fazer serviced for my euro trip at beginning of June so guy doing it at the same time.

There is another seller selling Tourmax Rubbers for £135 so its a saving of nearly £50 on them so i am happy enough.
