Try using a left hand drill bit, with reverse action drill, just might do the trick.

Just tried that, took it off the bike this morning and used heat and lh drill bit, still couldn't get it to come out.  Final try was a screw extractor but that snapped off too, now its stuck in as well!  Not pretty.  Is there any other calipers that fit easily enough? doesn't seem to be any fzs600 rears on ebay at the moment.

The Fazer 400 is a straight swap. The  Fzs1000 01 to 05 and the later XJR1300 blue spot will fit, you just need to file the 600 bracket down about 2 to 3mm at one point to get the clearance for the holes to line up. This is the most direct swap any other ones need a bit more work. Try Fazerspares in Bristol if ebay doe not throw up anything

Thanks for that, can't see anything for any of them on ebay but I'll keep looking.  I'll email fazerspares and see if they've got anything about as well.

Whereabouts are you?

I've got one but it'll take a bit of finding.
FZS600, Speed Triple 1050, FZS1000, DT175MX etc.

I have one I could part with...  Wink

If you're not having luck looking for FZS callipers, the XJR1300 of FZS1000 bluespots are considered an upgrade, and are a direct fit.

Thanks for that, I'm just outside Glasgow.  How much do you want for it?

Couldn't find a fzs1000 or xjr1300 one on in the UK on ebay unfortunately and no fzs600 early ones about so struggling a bit.

Quite eager to get it sorted out.  MOT next week....

Thanks

I found my old one in the garage, it needs pistons and seals. I had stripped it years ago with the intention of replacing the pistons and seals because it was sticking, but a FZS1000 one came up on EBAY and I bought it. This was put in a box and left there.
Yours for the price of the postage if you want it.
Let me know and I can send it to you on Monday, it will probably cost around a tenner to post.

Will take a few pics of all sides tomorrow evening.
Just pay the postage and it is yours it is of no use to me and has been in the box for years. It needs a good clean, pistons, seals and one bleed nipple. As I said when I was stripping it because one piston was sticking an FZS1000 one came up on ebay and I bought it. I took out the bleed nipple to replace a damaged one on an old trailway

Mine was more for a mate, so if you need it then just take it. My mate has got one on ebay.

Caliper pictures
Two seals can be seen at top right of first pic, knackered. Caliper will need a good clean out with brake cleaner of something like it as I coated it in WD40 to stop it corroding.
Emjaydee, let me know where you approximate address is (nearest town/city) to allow me price the postage tomorrow and let you know.
