Yamaha FZS1000 Fazer, reg 16/12/2004 (54 reg), £2950


MOT to 5/6/14, taxed to Sept 14


32000 miles


Metallic Blue, black frame.


Ohlins rear shock, fully Ivanised in 2007 by Mike G, so modded airbox, BMC filter & Bos can then fitted (Original can here). Renntec engine bars, Scottoiler, front mudguard extender, hugger (not fitted, ahem), Ventura rack rack (original grab handles here) & light guard (also not fitted), heated grips.


Very good condition except for a ding on the tank (previous owner!), the nearside engine paint is perform the usual flaking and there is some alloy oxidising on the rear footrests (which hasn’t worsened in my time). Never dropped even at standstill, no accidents so HPI clear.


Metzeler Roadtec Z6s with 4.3mm F & 4.5mm R tread. Chain adjustment looks less than halfway.


Full Yamaha service history – last serviced in June 2013. Service book and more importantly all invoices too. EXUP valve replaced in 2009. ACF50 treatment in 2009 & 2010 and barely used since. Metzeler Roadtec Z6 tyres.


I‘m sight of Gatwick Airport.


2 owners from new, both, er, mature…


1st owner did 20,000 miles in 2 years commuting from Crawley to Canary Wharf 3 nights a week, I’ve added 10,000 in my time in 2 commuting bursts but it’s now done less than 1000 miles in the last 4 years. Always kept on an Accumate charger and kept in a dehumidified garage.V5 present and in my name and both keys here.
Knackered knee and a new (old) 4 wheel toy means it’s got to go.


I won’t advertise it anywhere else until after the weekend just to see if anyone on here is looking…

Hi - as I said above in the first post I was a previous forum member (when it was dark blue) so I was I well aware of you guys - it's how it came to be Ivanised; the Ohlins came from a member on here etc etc.

I appreciate how it looks - only joined to sell. But I could simply have gone onto other sites and placed the ad. Instead I chose to spend a few minutes and start here as it's where I found a load of useful info, and I always start looking for something on an owners forum. I was faintly surprised to be allowed to post a For Sale ad as a first post.

I'm not exactly an active member of any forums (forii?), much as I'd like to be. As for the price - well, I did a bit of research on here and the usual other bike sale sites and it seemed to be a fair starting point.

I don't expect to get that - far from it, I am a realist but one can hardly increase the starting price should someone actually show up and then seem very eager.

I've just gone through the pain of selling 2 cars and buying 2 cars - in one instance I got the car way way below the asking price by waving notes and being prepared to buy there and then; when selling I priced slightly high but then got starting bids closer to my selling point...

But harsh the comments why not suggest what he should be asking fellas or show him how much other examples are going for. I don't blame him joining to sell the bike it's the most seen fazer site in the uk. Come on guys lets not start a witchhunt.

Always thought a seller could ask whatever price they liked, it's their property after all, the market and desire to sell will eventually dictate what it actually sells for.

Agreed, and in this instance its more about the mileage effecting the price than the age. I paid just over 3k for my 04 a few years ago but it was in vgc and only had 10k on the clock.

@Tim, I would sell the bits that can be unbolted separately, eg the engine bars, rear rack bars, the scott-oiler, the after-market exhaust can etc etc.

It did occur to me to strip the extras, but as they're 'sensible'and practical (rather than say a pink screen and furry seat) I thought it might make the overall package more attractive. And then I have the relative hassle of

removing them
advertising them
packaging them (used Scottoiler anyone?) without the original boxes
sending them

so for the moment they'll stay as I have enough of a list of things that need doing! And I've already had one enquiry as is.

As an aside it always surprises me when an 8 year old bike with 30k on the clock is 'high' - it's not even 4k a year and why have a bike and not ride it (yes, I do realise the irony of that statement, it's why we're here..). I sold my old Pan with 95k on the clock (at an appropriate price...) when it was just 4 years old. Now that was relatively high...
