Changed the oil and fitted K&N oil filter. took it for the first spin of the year, man what a huge smile on my face.
Incidentally some creepy guy approached me in an Aldi car park ranting about foccing with his friends in some kind of male orgy based role playing forum and riding his internet or something... I'm pretty sure he threatened me with a paddock stand at one point too. :b

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Kit No offence but I think you should learn to cook and scrub and your good lady should learn to ride so she can replace you on our rideouts.
This idea has 2 benefits
1. easier on your shocks
2.easier on my eyes (since I'm always chasing)
3. red98 gets to eat

You mean you'd really steal the food from under my nose while I was on the perv :eek

ditto very happy as well. Met a guy with a fazer 600 there as well thought he was a bit of a tosser so said nowt about FOC.
Got it back from the dealer 15 minutes ago, after he did the following work:
new generator (ouch!)
new OEM rear shock and linkages
new chain & sprockets
new throttle cable
new fork oil
new oil and filter
HEL brake hoses
new brake pads
new mirrors (ones I've had for 5 years under warranty that I never got round to fitting)
beowulf titanium exhaust (baffle sitting on my desk :eek )
new Bridgestone T30 front and rear (used to BT23s and these are supposed to be better)
deep clean
Since that lot cost a bit, I'm keeping the FZ1 for a few more years and will probably get a few more bits done - such as new downpipes and possibly an Ohlins shock.
Looking forward to riding it home. Have only ridden it 4 times this year since the floods affected things badly where I am.
Doing the usual commute today, but it's what I'm doing tomorrow that's cool.
I got a text message from www.circuitbasedtraining.co.uk saying "The first person to rely to this text gets an advanced cornering course half price for 05-04-14."
I was in there like a shot!
Broken, bruised, forgotten, sore,
too fucked up to care any more.

What rear shock did the dealer put on and why did you not just a pay a bit extra for the Ohlin's if that's what you desire

I simply wanted to keep the cost down so made do with another Yamaha OEM shock for the FZ1. The earliest I'll consider buying a new bike is likely 2017. If I decide to get an Ohlins shock and the forks done too before then, I'll hang onto it for much longer.
Took off my snazzy fender to sell...back on with the original.
Cleaned her. 8)
Went a ride up my local hills. 8)
Visited my local burial chamber......as you do :b
Rescued a lamb, threw it back over the fence...forgot my wellies. :rolleyes
Had a lovely blast back down the hills.
Got sprayed with genuine welsh farming shit tanker solidified field residue which was all over the road & got kicked up from the land rover in front of me.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike
K n N air filter/oil filter fitted, oil changed, coolant changed, front sprocket nut upgraded, gen 1 Fazer 1000 blue dot rear caliper fitted, thunderace torque arm fitted, HEL braided rear brake line fitted. hopefully can stop spending money on her for a while. :lol
