Noggys price is right...or is it.

Nice to see you......to see you nice......with wonga!

You've all endured my should i do loads of mods followed by my recommend a new bike thread.....next on the list for end of this season.......how much is the noggyfighter "likely to fetch".....I'm not saying worth...that's a mine field....& target market, where i am located in Wales etc are factors....plus there's so many easily sellable items on it that i fear i may be forced to break the bike & sell everything off...yes a real shame i think...but a financial fact...I'm aware that this will be hard work & the nitty gritty of foccing about with engines etc isn't high on my things i want to do list.

I already know that fazers are going low....i'd say for a good, original & undamaged bike roughly £1500 any day....maybe £1800 tops for the above which has been fully modded up with all the desirable bits & bobs.
Mostly the hacks are around £700 to £800

My bike is better than just a hack though & has lots of tasty bits....it just needs a little tlc....it hasn't been used in all weathers for all of its life, it is low mileage & the engine is really sound.....it just had a bit of a spill...before that it was a really clean example.

So i would describe it as a decent project bike.....& i have most of the bits to complete it.

Bad bits first:-

Has been crashed.....last years off at 40 - 50mph....slid down road on its right side.
No front fairing.
Fairing bracket is bent back in place but not acceptably straight for fairing.
Simmi end can has superficial damage.
Tank has an inch diameter dent which has been touched up.
Right side rear panel has a scrape which is touched up.
Radiator has 1 bolt from side trim snapped off inside hole.( not from crash, from alu blue weak bolt)
Polisport mx headlight with crap light, only got for mot passing.
Rear brake switch needs the wiring attached properly, snapped off when trying to change the brake lever so it is bodged on by me but works perfectly...just 2 wires for someone that's handy with fiddly stuff.

So not that bad...but still nowt special.....but what about the good points:-

Fzs600 2001
Engine is bulletproof, only 14k miles, very powerful, used hard but oil changed every year, Treated with Activ8 additive (no activ8 threads please, it shows i care, i am a believer), gearbox is sound with no jumping or crunching.
Will have a fresh MOT.
Yamaha brake pads & brake fluid, front & rear changed by yamaha dealer about 2k miles ago.
Swinging arm bearings replaced for mot last year.
Old receipt from a previous owner for new carb rubbers.

Modifications & tasty bits:-
Front yoke dropped 10mm on forks for sharper handling.
Rear end jacked up just over 25mm on perception components wishbones.
Simmi performance end can, battle damaged from crash but still only 1 year old, still works & sounds sweet.
Stainless steel downpipes, unknown manufacturer, possibly sandy, off Christos old bike & now very clean.
K&N air filter.
K&N oil filter.
Uprated front sprocket nut.
Grey Renthal 758 Ultra Low handlebars.Blue annodised shorty CNC brake & clutch levers.Blue annodised Renthal handlebar clamp.Blue annodised Renthal bar end plugs/weights.Renntec crash bars.Very rare blue silicone radiator & coolant hoses kit, only 1 year old, still haven't fitted some of them.Coolant flushed & replaced last year & this year.Silver pro bolt brake fluid reservoir topSilver pro bolt oil filler capVery rare http://foc-u.co.uk/file:///C:/Users/PORTCO~1/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image001.gif Engraved stainless rear brake  torque arm.
'sport' front fender, aftermarket (looks like though), cost me 80 quid plus 80 quid to spray.
Original fender with fender extender...small crack where extender meets fender (common problem)
Ok so lots of pissy bling really that i could easily sell on its own if needs be.

What else have i got lying about as extras:-
Original end can (meh).
Complete & undamaged aftermarket fibreglass boxeye front fairing, (requires prep & paint).
2 x complete blue spot front brake calipers with pads ( as were on Christos bike as crashed).
1 x tasty fzs1000 rear blue spot caliper & hanger, from a 10k miles bike, just paid £90 a few weeks back.
Pair of extra triangle air box covers.
1 x non crashed, non bent front fairing bracket for boxeye (rocking horse shit)...just needs painting.
Left side mirror bracket.
Both original mirrors, right has scuffed plastic.
Original torque arm.
Original grey rear grab rail.
So that's allot of foccin stuff & allot of moneys worth if i sell it all separate.......but how much as a complete package????...i mean pretty much all of the components are there to complete the project......i would say a new second hand tank would be in order & a paint job...& a bit of time & it is an awesome bike again..

To top it off.....the icing on the cake........the chance to buy my snazzy Dave Cooper single bike, collapsible motorcycle trailer( £370 new) used on only 2 scotland trips......i really cant bare another 500 mile 50mph trailer trip plus my new car doesn't have a tow bar & i aint shelling out another 300 quid for one.....all funds required for a new bike.
This could potentially be a fettlers dream package....a project bike....plus a minted bike trailer.....plus tow the bike away using the trailer which overcomes wales distance issue.
What dyas reckon.......what sort of price could i realistically get for all of this...1 package...wham bam thank you mam????...& would anyone seriously consider it by end of summer???.....serious foccers i'd consider a decent deal to just know that the bike was appreciated & i could see its reincarnation......but i dont want the piss taken by anyone who I've never even "virtually" liaised with...some of you have helped me out allot since i've had the bike.
No clambering for individual parts please.....if i do end up having to go down that road i'll pop another post up.
Noggyfighter will still be seen having another few thou miles of fun this year & proving that I'm not selling for any undisclosed reasons or because I'm hiding something.
Cheers

Yes well i aim to please Smile ...i'll say it as it is....a complete ballache from start to finish if taking a bike long haul on a trailer......trailer is obviously invaluable for folk who often pick up project bikes or go to track days & stuff & being collapsible it is always there just incase, broken down bikes are catered for.......but i'll be riding the bike to scotland this june, i'll cut the journey & stop off half way instead.

If you're looking to get rid of it, Noggy, I might be interested in the trailer on its own - for the right price, of course.  Wink

The Noggyfighter may be worth more if you put some time and effort into prepping that front fairing. I hate to say it, but the lack of yours makes the off a bit more, well, obvious. A new fairing at least looks like the bike survived better than it may actually have done - provided you do a proper job of prepping and painting.

On the trailer... a vision just floated through my mind... a Fazer 6000 towed behind.... a Fazer 600! I STILL HAVE THAT FOCCIN' TOWBAR!!  :lol :lol

That's all the world needs....you with another trailer Big Grin

I might sell it eventually on its own...but as a package it is maybe a more interesting proposition....i really dont want to make the bike look uncrashed...if it gets an mot then it is roadworthy & not a worry & the bike can be more easily assessed as is.....plus i'll need to pay someone to spray the fairing, find some lights, get it all fitted....it just isn't worth my while....but it would be an easy project for someone in the know.

I think i can foresee stripping the bike...but i thought i'd ask first....parts go like hot cakes.....foccing about...yes...but the bike has lots of good condition parts.

I'll wait see what the concensus is...if nobody here is interested then i really cant be focced with local free ad tyre kicking....i'll take my time & strip off all the bling first for easy sales...then i'll start on the bits n bobs...then eventually i'll be left with the engine.

As someone who has broken a bike for spares:

Do that, and you will lose.

A fortune.

The crash (and sale of parts) still wiped over a grand off what I planning to sell my 600 for. If you get to that stage, better to sell the bling, return the Noggyfighter to standard, and sell her like that.

Plus, you'll never be left with the engine. You'll be left with the frame, and a pile of random crap no-one really wants, like the airbox. I don't mean to piss on your bonfire, but been there, done that.

Btw  Was Linda Grey (Baby) good for Kleenex profits or what :p

I've priced up cheap prices for all of the various in demand bits....basically comes to about £800

so i'd be wanting all of that hassle of stripping and selling to be worth its while.

i'd possibly part with it for 1k...is that fair....so for 1k someone gets a low mileage bike with an mot, tasty bits and almost all the parts to completed the project.....is this fair?...more to the point is it 'likely'....& no that wouldn't include the trailer.

Cheers Clive...good to see you back on the scene. 8)

thing is I wanna get the use of her this summer and then prob try sell her at the end of the season so it is either someone looking for a cheap work bike or someone looking for a winter project to keep busy.
I think for a grand I would be selling the thou caliper separately, & the torque arm, handlebar brace, pro bolt stuff etc....i'd take off the 'sport' front fender (forgot to mention that)..bloody thing cost me £80 quid 6 months ago..then another £80 to get is sprayed :eek ...I have allot of quality parts before I even start to get to all the fiddly bits n bobs and sensors and brackets etc etc.

I appreciate what Christo says about breaking a bike....I seen the hassle that Red had Wink , good old red eh...but then my bike has much more useable parts shall we say ie no major front end damage, just the fairing ..if i'm in no rush for the money I can take my time stripping and cleaning everything.

now idea 3 kinda coincides with breaking it.....a mobile fazer jumble....im sure the welsh foccers would be interested in some of the parts and easy to get hold of locally....but if I dismantle it all then I could pre arrange prices and somewhere central & drive them all to that location....all the buyers can meet me & get the stuff...no foccing about with delivery or the charges.
I'm still open to someone just coming and taking everything though.....just for a fair price.....this thread will gauge interest & real world feasibility of that........but it seems that demand for  :faz parts, for  :faz s needing parts has now outstripped demand for cheap  :faz s needing parts. :b

Realistically mate, I think you'll be looking at about 6/700 quid, maybe 800 tops as it is. Best bet would be to put it back to standard, aand sell the bits separately, but for a crash damaged bike that needs work doing you'll not get a grand - there's very tidy fox eyes going on eBay for about 1500!

+1 for returning bike to standard as possible and selling the other bits separately..
Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it..

Ye this is where my likely not 'worth' question came into it.

It is 'worth' a grand.

But i'm not 'likely' to get a grand.

Strippedydooda it is i reckon....i'll get the most outta it this summer & if i cant get a grand for the bike plus all the parts then it will be out with the spanners.

On the plus side there will be lots of parts popping up or sale next year.....stay tuned.

Sorry bud, you coulda bought it but the thing is my back brake feels fine but theres no telling & if it doesn't pass the mot then id be daft to have just sold a pristine thou caliper & then need to spend more on my current fitted caliper.

Apart from that i dont really use back brake & i only really care about getting the mot pass cert so i can have fun this summer.

I'll have a look when the mot is due & get back to you if you like but i think you need a caliper pronto am i right???

Yes, I decided yesterday to fit my new rear line, only had my bike for 2 weeks and I didn't relise the damn caliper had 2 bleed screws, one was fine and the other was snapped off, only noticed it when everything was back together and was ready to bleed the system.

You're welcome Mark,

Tell you what that engine is a stonker....it'll prob be the most awkward thing for me to sell...if anyone local wanted a spare & good engine i'd do a good price on it....i wont be bullshitting, if between now & then i have any suspicion of jumping gears etc ill be straight about it.

Then theres the carbs which ive never had an issue with...did with my original set...but these ones just seem to keep going...i put it down to giving the bike plenty revs & decent runs....i rarely do less than 50 miles in one go.

Apart from that there'll be plenty decent parts kicking about.

Also forgot...i also have a red fox hugger fitted...i've pretty much got all the bling parts....all that was left was braided lines & suspension upgrades....christ even the shock looks clean...i would say passed its best on 14k but some folk are running original shocks with 40k.

If i strip it then theres the wheels which should have loads of pilot 3 tread still left on the tyres if the reviews are anything to go by.
