Waiting for my new Renthal 755's for the GenII.

I'm thinking the throttle cables might be too short so I've blagged a cheap set of Bandit risers just in case my OEM ones are too long.

Yeah, I'm pretty good at conveniently "forgetting" to buy replacement crush washers.

Just found one on eBay for £1.69 plus £1.10 P&P, so ordered it :thumbup

Surprisingly my local Yamaha dealer only charges 60p for a crush washer(sump plug type)

Fitted some el - cheapo levers from Hong Kong, feel a bit cheap,  look ok but for £18 delivered work out a fraction of the price of ASV or equivalent. Will see how they hold up.

Did the oil and filter change that I would have done previously had I realised I needed the crush washer sooner!

There was one more small glitch, I didn't realise until I started that the oil filter removal tool took a 3/8" fitting, but the socket set and torque wrench I have are both 1/2" fittings, so I had to go to a local shop and pay an exhorbitant amount (£7.15!) for an adapter Sad

Still, once I'd done that it went pretty smoothly :thumbup

Today went n Mot'd my '00 FZS600 and passed no problem.  Having it sail through the MOT made it all worth while sorting the suspension and swingarm roller bearings n shafts n bushes + a splatter of good ol' TLC. Nice! all up together ready for the warmer season.
This week I've been mostly tinkering in the garage

Replaced the exup cables on my son's fazer thou. While the tank was off I thought I'd give the carbs a once over as I was planning to install an ivans kit, turns out the previous owner had already had it done Smile Although the slider springs were different lengths :\
Bollocks, bigger hammer required

I rode the noggyfighter to Newport Gwent for new tyres...via scenic route so Haverfordwest-Carmarthen-Llandovery-Brecon-Abergavenny-Newport.....130 miles....froze my tits off...was foccin cold, raining....then sleet :eek .......i was in a bad way. Sad

Got to the sanctuary of the warm dealers...coffee & bacon roll & it was pissing down so much i didn't wanna go on any test rides....no fun on an unfamiliar bike in those conditions when i'm a fair weather hooner.

Did lots of bike mooching...then bombed it back to base on the Motorway...got to practice some filtering (bikes rule)......new Michellin road smart 3's seem nice so far...scrubbed in in the wet & i didn't fall off.

High pitched noise from tyre chafing my front fender aint good...i need to look at that...possibly elongate the mount hole so i can get more clearance.

So.....foccin freezing....seen lots of bikes...didnt ride them.....got to practice some winter riding skills.....plus motorway filtering skills.......Noggyfighter is stonking as usual 8)

Bill-cheers for honda advice...gonna go there on the 13th when i shall will the weather to be nice.

I presume you mean Pilot Road 3s. Smile
Was there anywhere closer to home to get the tyres? :eek
Out of curiosity how much did they cost and how much to have them fitted?
My son now lives in Abergavenny and uses the Fazer 400, but does not know any of the bike shops in south Wales other than M&P

Ye that's the ones  :pokefun

£263 fitted mr unfazed & the shop was south wales superbikes in the industrial estate in newport.

Kind of had grand visions of test rides on all the bikes but that wasnt to be plus i had already booked in & stubbornly refused to throw in the towel.....i am quite thin on the ground for bike shops in west wales though....swansea closer but not a yam dealer although JT's still looks quite good.

Dirty noggyfighter still does me proud. Smile

Ps-unfazed...if he takes the A road from Aber to Newport...the one off the dodgy, funny skee wif roundabout & heads south towards the m4 then when you get to Newport you actually look out for signs for the M4 east to the bridge...seems strange to go back outta newport but you do (i k ow coz i got lost for half an hour & couldnt see either :rolleyes )...then after the tunnel going east it is the next turn off & you head for the industrial estate.

Hope that helps a little bit......cant be any more than 25 minutes from Aber i reckon.
